Yep - now do I feel some people will take the p1ss out of this at the National...? - I've had it all from my mates already... :D

I'm hoping actually I can take it back to the company that sold it to me... I hope!

I understand HMS Ocean needs a new anchor chain :D

And it continues! :D:rofl:

My farmer mate went to a tractor exhibition and there was a 200HP V8, needing two 24V batteries to start, and it's ignition cable was thinner than the stuff I bought!

. Good for making custom jump leads apparently, but 5m may not be long enough.

Jason , 5 metres is the perfect length for jump leads ..............am being serious on this one :D

But it will only makes two 2.5m jump leads? Is 2.5m OK? Sounds a little short to me.

Right two questions needed to be answered

1) How much would four crocodile clips be, if 2 2.5m jump leads are OK?

2) How much is a jump lead package, if I can get back

Just make sure you get crocodile clips less than a foot long, Jason. :D

Are you expecting trouble? All this talk of jump leads and the like.

Sorry Jason , you should have bought 10metres of cable i.e 2 x 5 metre lengths .............you are right 2.5 metre jump leads are a bit short ...............go and buy another 5 metres of cable and you can then make yourself a decent set of jump leads ;)

You will be able to start a tractor with those :D

what about flogging it on ebay?

He's already got a tractor

PS 200 bhp V8? And 2x24V batteries? Is it a diesel?

(928 - 300 bhp V8, 1x12V battery (but only about 20 seconds cranking time to flatten it ...))

Yep - Fordson V8 200HP diesel. Twin exhausts straight up out the engine. Something to behold, and my mate has bought one of those engines and is currently looking for a donor machine. I can't say tractors are my thing. :D

So when are you going to share your cunning plan, Colin? Or is it so cunning that it can't be shared and we have to figure it out ourselves?? :D

arh use your first names I'll be about, if you get any problems call me...as per the not so infrequent pm's...

oh you all have PM's btw.

Cheers, Colin.

BTW - anyone know what the M6 is like north of Brum on a Friday evening (I know, I know, daft question but has to be asked). I think I'll be getting there about 6 pm (probably about the worst time but needs must). Are there any escape routes if it gets too bad??

* strokes his sat nav with TMC

I'll let you know on Friday (or Saturday if it doesnt work ;)) evening in the hotel bar :D

Enough of your fetishes, Q, what about the M6?? :D (Remember I have

The M6 goes north of Birmingham... that's about as far as my knowledge goes :D

Only Joking Q! :D I guess you'll be doing M40, M42, M5,round LH side of Brum joining M6 at jn 8?

What time were you planning to get there by?

Cheers,

Thought you had a TrafficMaster Howard?

I have, Geoff, but it only tells me how bad the traffic is, not how to get around it. The only obvious alternative I can see is M42 round the south of Brum, but that's a *nasty* road at the best of times.

Where are you coming from, Howard?

Ahhh right, i always thought it gave you alternative routes too...

As for the M6, last time i was on it was going to / from the NEC last year for the MotorShow...

3 hours to get there (left home 7am)

5 hours to get home (Left NEC 5-ish)

Car Park !!!!!!! :D

That's what I'm worried about!

I will be doing M5 to Brum, M42 to pick up a convoy, M6 or M5 north to Hilton park to pick up another skud, and then west on the M54 + This will be mid-afternoon so I think I (we, I mean) will escape the worst of the traffic. Unless ******* (I almost typed the real name) has a bad rush hour?

Any time in the afternoon on the M5/M6 on a Friday is bad ..............be prepared for delays !

Will look forward to it, mellow. We'll get some convoy muscle on show!
