My final question on this. If you're not taking part in the drag I take it there's no compulsion to turn up at 9.30am? I'd rather just set off early on Saturday morning than come down the night before (saves on a night's accommodation).

 

You just pay on the gate whenever you show up and can merrily just park up and watch

I think I'll just book into the Premier Inn in Wellingborough for the Saturday night - it's only 35 quid at the moment - I'm going to Market Rasen on the Sunday, so the other option is to head to Lincoln after the Pod; however, it's a 100-mile drive (think I'll have done enough driving for one day) and the Premier Inn in Lincoln is double the price.

 

How near is the Premier Inn to Pod? I found a Travelodge for £28 1 night 2 persons. 4.5mile away.
