Mini 0803 Dashcam

Featured Replies

Looking at getting a new dashcam as my Mobius is completely goosed! After doing some research, the Mini 0803 gets good reviews and is in my price bracket. Just wondering if anyone has/had one and whether it is/was any good? The reviews mention overheating is an issue but only in hot countries apparently.

Depends on how desperate you are.

The 0806/0803 pro is meant to be due any time now

Have the 0803

Does everything I expect it to.

As far as overheating goes i am not sure if this id my occasional issue with it or not but at times it goes mad and makes a dual tone beep sound so I have to remove the sd card and manually shut it down.

restarting it and all is perfect again until the next time. This has happened approx 6 times since i bought it probably last may.

What does the pro version feature over the normal one?

I have an 0803 and not had any overheating issues. Get the odd time it locks up on starting though.

I thought the 0803pro/0806 is just a newer version,

What did you do to the mobius? I only ask as one is on it's way to me...

Better picture quality (especially at night) is the main one. I think fixing the overheating issues and a few other bugs are rumoured.

The guy who does the dashcam reviews is supposedly testing one at the moment

I have no idea! Just won't record any more despite firmware updates and changing memory card.

My 0801 works really well, my brother in law has a 0803 and that is getting hot (bought from Eprance) and has now ceased to work. I got mine from here as I don't try Eprance :- http://www.combi.org.uk/categories/6/Mini-0801-DVR

Seem the 0805 is available here.

Keep an eye on www.techmoan.com

Anything can fail, if it's less than a year old send it back for a new one. Mine are 18months old min now and in constant use with no failures. I assume you have gone through the full reset with holding in the reset button through the pin hole and tried another USB cable and power adapter, reformatting the card with the camera and testing another card formatted in this way?

No,aside from updating the firmware and trying different reformatted memory cards it doesn't record. I'll try doing a reset and see if that helps, could do with a new power adapter too I think.

That is exactly as I get.

Not really a problem though.
