Misty rear window...

Featured Replies

I've already done this to get rid of the rumble.

I have noticed that when opening the tailgate after/during rain there's a lot of water runs down the channel either side of the tailgate - that's why I thought there might be the chance of some of that going between the bodywork and the rear light cluster and ending up inside the car as vapour

I doubt it would be this causing the moisture problem, would be a major fail on the part of Skoda.

Have you checked such things as damp/water in the boot floor/spare wheel well, in the rear passenger floor. Other cars have been known to have leaks there (not necessarily Skoda), maybe a grommet dislodged or seal not quite doing it's job.

I read so many having misty rear windows that are hard to clear. I can only say mine is as dry as dry can be, even after heavy rain, frost/snow whatever thrown at it really. I was expecting to see some problems re misting up but not one jot.

  • Fortunately only one cycle of the rear heater was required this morning.   My main disappointment was I couldn’t access the ice scrapper due to the petrol cap being frozen.

  • Yep - same problem with mine (which considering my heated rear window didn't work for the first 5 weeks of ownership made life interesting).   Best advice I can give you is to clean the inside of al

  • Having air con on keeps the windows clear. How did we manage without it?

Yes many have done this [emoji106]

Is there a guide?

I've had a good feel around inside the boot and cabin but it's as dry as a bone.

I expect a certain amount of condensation at this time of year but this is a bit silly

Is there a guide?

I'm new here, but I too had massive condensation on rear window. Turned out to be a leak into the boot with pools of water collecting in wheel well and in side pockets behind lights / carpet to the sides.

Turned out to be gaps in the seam sealant when body was welded up around tailgate opening and down behind rear bumper and light cluster, but two and a half weeks later, dealer seems to have sorted it!

Might be worth taking a look.

Going to check mine in the morning!

I have heard of another with the same issue too....

I've popped one of these on the rear parcel shelf: http://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B000XUPEJY/ref=sr_ph?ie=UTF8&qid=1417804446&sr=1&keywords=car+dehumidifier

So far, no interior fogging issues since deployment.

I got one of these a couple of weeks ago and sit it on the dash above the instrument cluster when I park. Since buying it I've never had a hint of condensation on the front windscreen. I still get it on the back from time to time but 2 minutes with the window heater on and it's gone.

It couldn't have been as bad as I thought it was - either that or these are extremely efficient at removing moisture

Given the massive improvement it made in both my car and my mum's - i would say they are extremely effective.

My Ford doesn't suffer like this -

But then it is 23C and scorchio all week here  :sun:
