You don't get the test driver gig at Williams without talent. Whereas both sauber drivers paid $32million each for their drives this year.

Nasr's daddy must be pally with the boss of Banco de Brasil. And there's no way anybody would pay Ericcson to drive F1. He was way out of his depth almost all of last season.

  • There doesn't seem to be any love for Kimi after coming from the back and finishing 4th  - I haven't seen his name mentioned once in any of the commentaries. I think he did well after the mess up that

  • Really?   Probably one of the first races this season that I've fully watched and if I'm totally honest I was bored out of my tree - processional at the best. Plus the pinnacle of motor racing and t

Nothing to do with her husband being on the board and owning a stake in Williams then ?

Dont believe so. Ms Stoddart was a works Mercedes driver before she became Mrs Wolff.

There is a serious conflict of interest if Toto could impose a slow test driver on a competitor, dont you think?

He has been looking to offload his Williams holding since moving to Merc too

Ferrai reality check?

Rosberg on mediums 2 seconds faster than Vettel on softs!

It would be naive to think that it doesn't have any bearing , her sex also has a lot to do with it as well as its good for promotion

Testing pace and race pace are completely different.

We're getting a glimpse into possible performance, but there's still 3 weeks until Melbourne

She's a good and well respected ex DTM driver.

In a sport with no previous female F1 drivers, everyone is keen for that boundary to be crossed. Commercially lucrative for a team with the right driver with the right talent. Currently she's the only candidate for a female driver in F1, but being good friends with the Williams family & team makes it easier and more likely to happen IMO.

apart from these girls:

I don't think she would be the first female F1 driver. Of modern times, yes..

She did a pretty decent job when she drove in Hockenheim practice last year, but it's hard to believe Williams would pick her purely on talent.

Rich, please feel free to bring something new to this forum at any time.

I notice your last dozen posts have all merely been gainsaying anybody elses opinions.

Just drawing facts into it , not everyone knows Toto Wolfe is a board member at Williams and owns part of the company

But feel free to make it personal

er `What were her times at the end of season Bahrain test comparative to others?

Her DTM career was simply appalling with the best career single race finish 8th...

I wish her all the best but Simona di Silvestro is in different league compared to Susie I am afraid, sadly she does not have a husband on Williams board of directors lol.

I find it ironic that the country where females make the most significant inroads into the highest echelons of motorsport is USA... big fan of Danica :)

I think Merc will have a repeat of 2014 this season with Williams and Ferrari fighting with Redbull behind. Great chance for Lewis to clock up hi third WDC this year !

Agree , not saying she is rubbish but compare her racing career with Alex Lynn , there are reasons she got the seat but they sure as hell aren't to do with results.

Alex will get his go, but he's only just been signed and they'll probably give him loads of simulator time first.

Would you give her one?

Only if she divorces Toto Wolff first!

Enough talk of Susie - Rory Byrne is back at Ferrari. Interesting move, apparently he is mentoring their chief designer, Simone Resta.

The last time Byrne was at Ferrari, along with Ross Brawn, they won 6 constructors titles and 5 drivers titles in 6 years.

Has Brawn resurfaced yet?

Has Brawn resurfaced yet?

As far as I know he is still fishing.

Is this a good time to mention Michael Schumacher?

Actually I was thinking about him the other and wondering how is he doing? Any reliable news around?

None that I am aware of and don't want to speculate into his recovery.

Indeed. What about Jules?

Indeed. What about Jules?

Same and same.

Guys, I was talking about Schumi in the context of "factors in Ferrari winning 6 constructors' and 5 drivers' titles on the bounce".

As regards his recovery, the last I heard was a "please leave him alone to recover in private" message, which seems to have been respected.
