I'm sure Williams will be one of the only team to challenge Mercedes this year.

  • There doesn't seem to be any love for Kimi after coming from the back and finishing 4th  - I haven't seen his name mentioned once in any of the commentaries. I think he did well after the mess up that

  • Really?   Probably one of the first races this season that I've fully watched and if I'm totally honest I was bored out of my tree - processional at the best. Plus the pinnacle of motor racing and t

For me the highlight of the 2015 season will be Button v. Alonso rivalry. I so wish Jenson whoops Fernandon's derriere!

I understand the sentiment but honestly Alonso is one of the best all round drivers in F1 in say the last 25 years bar Häkkinen and Schumacher.  to do what he has done with the Ferrari the last 5 yrs was an amazing achievement with such shocking cars.  Jenson stands little chance by the mid season

I agree,

although Jenson out scored Hamilton over their shared tenure at McLaren - it was the "crazy years" Lewis - family, girlfriend, managment, and attitude problems - look at the amount of bad mistakes he made.

Alonso is so consistent - he doesn't seem to have had a really bad patch ever.

Which makes the prospect of Button doing it ever so ever exciting! We know it's highly unlikely, but wouldn't it be just hilarious if he did.

I dont think Hakkinen stands comparison with Alonso.  2 championships in the fastest car, then burn out 12 months later. Alonso is still regarded as one of the best currently, 8 years after his last title.

Engine unfreeze penalises HONDA.

Honda as a new entrant have to homologate their 2015 engine by Feb 28th.  Other teams have no time limit to develop and introduce their new motor so can run 2014 donks until new upgrade versions are ready whenever they like.

HONDA are dischuffed mightily.

HONDA complained and the FIA have granted a concession.  From the start of the season they will be allowed the same amount of development as the average amount the other manufacturers have left for in season adjustments.

Oh, that is going to be sweet, how exactly are they going to assess that "average amount"??

Anybody seen photos of 2015 cars yet?

They will have the average number of these tokens the others have left.

Each thing you want to change counts as a different number of tokens.

I have only just realised that Peter Prodromou is at McLaren, and seemingly the new car is slippery, surprise surprise. If that Honda motor delivers, then Alonso and maybe Button are going to frighten Lewis this year....game on

Low drag hasn't been the issue at MCL, it's been shortage of useable downforce.

Sorry, was being vague. I was reading that they are getting good results from the wind tunnel, which is more than just drag. Either way, he is generally recognised as one of the best at the moment, and if big Ron is grinning, then you know things could be interesting

The trick is to get low drag AND downforce, consistent one at that so it is linear through the corners and not suddenly drops off to pick up unpredictably - that is why some drivers complain about cars behaving differently in different parts of a corner.

Merc got it right to perfection last season. Lewis and Nico looked like they were bored behind the wheel where Fernando was riding a bucking bronco lol my vRS has more grip lol

There will be an interesting battle in the 'mid pack'. Force India have kept the same drive line-up and as far as i'm aware the same 'background' team. Meanwhile Sauber have a new drive line-up. This means new cash and therefore more development.

Sauber had their worst season ever last year, it will be interesting too see if/how they bounce back.

I REALLY want William's to have a stellar year, but they have been so wildly inconsistent over the past few seasons i dare not get my hopes up!

MARUSSIA auction is not going ahead because the administrators are in talks with credible buyers.  If team competes in 2015, it's income from last year is greater than the debts that closed it down.

Hope they make it :)

So, if Thripps Motors want to do HRC over, they do all their mods at race 2, and right off Honda are down from 48 to 32 mods.

Seems that way yes.

No one ever said F1 was a simple sport. :D

Here we go then - first shots of a 2015 car, the Williams FW37:

Not a 2015 car but Force India's new livery for 2015:

That isn't the 2014 car looking at the nose.

It's not the 2015 one either!

Force India colours get blander by the year - do they expect to get more TV coverage if mistaken for another team?

Oh BTW Haas F1 have bought the Marussia factory - but not the existing team or equipment.

The Williams does look good, in the current F1 style anyway.
