Aftermarket Dash mounted SatNav

Featured Replies

Whilst discussing a Buick satnav a collegue had retrofitted to his Insignia I came across this:

Seems very cheap and woulod make use of the dash cubby hole for those that don't use it, looks like it works in conjunction with the standard unit too.

Said collegue is rather pleased with the device and says it works very well indeed, with Maps from TomTom and a reversing camera function.

Anyone seen these before?

It looks worth a punt at £180. I bought my unit direct from China and I am very happy with it. Excellent GPS, reversing camera, tv, usb and flash card etc

Cassoude: web site claims this device is fully DIY and easy to instal. Is this your experience?

Or buy a satnav skoda unit..

I am not a DIY'er - or it means Destroy It Yourself to me!

I had mine fitted by a specialist as it needed the cable running from the rear camera to the dash, also the mic for the telephone was put under the headlining - not my skill!

Good luck

Or buy a map?

Or buy a chauffer?

OR...

Of course there are other options; I hadn't seen this on the forum before.

Also, can you show me a Skoda satnav for less than £200?

If you've installed audio (eg a Sub?) before, its not much harder really!

Just time consuming and fiddly, especially routing the cable through the bung for the boot lid!

I'd come across these on ebay when thinking of getting a Columbus.

The lack of proper info on them put me off and I just went for the Columbus in the end.

They look neat though and make use of that storage box.

As above!

These 'cheap' kits are never normally very good plus I got my head unit for £220 from eBay :)

Just seen the postage is like £30....

So you can buy thia from China for £180 + £30 for postage or pay a bit more and get a skoda one....
