Octavia Combi 2.0 TDI 135 kW 4x4 DSG

Featured Replies

I found out that Octavia Combi (not vRS and not Scout version) has a possibility of 2.0 TDI 135 kW 4x4 DSG layout. In accordance to specs, it offers 7.2 secs to sprint from 0 to 100 km/h with a combined cycle consumption 4.9 l/100 km. In comparison to Octavia vRS Combi 2.0 TDI 135 kW DSG that makes 0-100 km/h in 8.2 seconds it is evident significant difference acceleration wise. Is it really true that 4x4 system manages to cut off one second?

Does someone drive Octavia Combi 2.0 TDI 135 kW 4x4 DSG ?

Thank you for your posts.

It certainly sounds plausible.

I know that in any FWD traction setting off can be an issue.

Yea, it's available in Eastern Europe, but not the UK.

I can believe it would cut 1 second off as pulling away with the FWD you get a lot of wheel spin, the engine has plenty of extra torque that could be used for the rear wheels to add grip on launch.

Yes, though I must point out that when you shift correctly (and you have proper tyres, the tarmac is grippy, the stars are alined perfectly and so forth) you can get the 'normal' vRS under 8s.

That figure was one of the reasons I opted for the TDI instead of the TSI for mine.

And it's not just a number either, the TDI feels like it has more grunt while overtaking than the TSI version...the torque it puts out is impressive. Managed to get four-wheel wheel spin on tarmac on my test drive.

That'll be icy tarmac then! ;-)

With that engine and 4x4 who would buy a vrs?  :D

Yes, that spec is available in Estonia as well.

Not in september...but there might have been a little bit of sand on the dry asphalt.

I'd have loved to have been able to get that spec in the UK. If you don't buy the scout, the best spec 4x4 available is the 2.0 TDI 150 in Elegance or L&K trim, and it's not available with DSG.

I wish I could have got the 184 engine and DSG on the Elegance 4x4.

Same here - when the L&K was launched at Geneva they had the CR184 DSG 4x4 in L&K trim - as usual, we don't get to see what is the perfect spec in the UK, probably to keep the Scout exclusive.

Is it so bad to want a cr (even the 150) 4x4 DSG hatch?!

The scout looks ugly IMHO, sorry to the people who like it.

Rubbish.

In dry conditions 150hp and 4wd would not outsprint the exact same car in fwd configuration to 62mph by over a second.

IF that were true why doesn't the 200hp  2.0TFSI Audi A3 Quattro beat the 200hp 2.0TFSI A3 (fwd) to 62 by a second.  Official figures are within 0.1 seconds of each other.  Better grip but heavier and more drivetrain losses.

Not the first time Skoda has put up duff information.

Tell it to my DSG when I floor it :D
