Well, OK, I knew I was around the upper 900s, but didn't realise how close to 1000 I actually was. Not that anything magical happens at 1000.

Got it :)

btw i dont drink!

You almost had me believing for a second, Matt. I don't drink either, anything non-alcoholic.

However, due to the amount of driving that will be done I feel moderation is due to have a clear Saturday "HAVE IT!" head on. :D

Morning all, sorry to have missed the invite, but i have just got back from the hols, but next time eh...

It should be pointed out, for the benefit of those who couldn't make it, that the national meets were first advertised in this thread as early as the 6th of May, so there should not have been any danger of missing the invite. The first meet was actually in July, and was well written up at the time by those who attended.

Yeah, top day out, cheers to the organisers...

fabia - no worries on the whole "getting lost" thing...was quite fun, though I dread to think how much wear I did to my clutch backing up that hill... ;)

Rob.

do what i do rob 2500 rpm drop the clutch and pray nothing was coming round that bend seemed to work:D

Think I was having to rev it to about 3500 and slip the clutch to even just hold it on the hill! Was a funny smell for a short while after that... :D

Rob.

surprised none of you tried a complete 180 in the middle of the road, in the spirit of the day! :D

are you like jason and without a handbrake:D

:o - looking back I'm not sure if I just fell on to the car and mistakenly thought it was rolling back... It had stood there quite happily for five minutes before I went around to the boot...

Yes, I have a handbrake, but it's not much good for moving the car... ;)

Did manage to get the car sideways on a roundabout on the way home, was raining that much...

Rob.

I nearly managed to enter a r/a with all 4 wheels locked (i.e. no braking due to ABS) at about 70 mph - fortunately it regained grip just in time

You certainly had an impressive turn of speed on the way down to Newtown, Nick

Good job you didn't follow later on in the day then ;)

surprised none of you tried a complete 180 in the middle of the road, in the spirit of the day!

jason you dont realise how far my fab went on a couple of occasions especially trying to follow jon,

lack of tread on front tyres wet greasy road sharp bend 60+ weeeeeeeeee :D

Sooo......? How was it all then....? Sorry never made it near enough after all, but maybe next year...

It was fab - read lots of comments in the Meets and Events forum...

:) Sorry I couldn't make it but I was in Belgium with the Land Rover (winning the trial at the Belgium National) and as this is an anual trip it takes precedence I'm afraid , its also a good chance to stock up on cheap baccy

:)
