Michelin Pilot Sport or Pilot Primacy for VRS Octavia front?

Featured Replies

Just wondering which to do for? I currently have Pilot Sport fitted. I need new fronts soon and was wondering if the Primacy would be better? Advice appreciated.

What do you want from tyres? Grip? Longevity? Wet weather performance? Are you dead set on Michelin or will you consider others?

Just want good standerd performance for the UK roads, I am just a bit worried that mixing the tyres (different on the front to rear) will mess the feel of the car?

Stick with Michelin pilots m8 as they are a great all round quality tyre and its nice to have the same brand on each corner :)

OK sure. Thanks

I have found the pilot sports really hard wearing compared to my dunlops I had previously

they are not the grippiest but will last a long time...a good all rounder

Agree. Most of the VAG cars come with Dunlops and they wear off shoulders fast and I never found them to have much grip. I always go with Mich Pilot Sports and my last set lasted really well - they were still on my A3 Sport after at least 20k miles, and lots of life left.

Old octy had Pilot sports on, they did quiet well and my brother has just changed 2 of them. They did several trackdays and lots of laps of the nurburgring, grip seemed ok to me.

I had 2 sets of Pilot Primacy's on my first Octavia RS, and found them to give decent grip, and exceptional longevity. I got 20,000 miles from the fronts and 38,000 miles from the rears.

My current RS has Dunlop SP 2000's ... and the best thing I can say about them is that they are nearly due for replacement. The grip levels have always made me nervous, and the fronts are almost gone after 12,000 miles.

Goodyear F1`s are the way to go :D Or try the new KU31`s from Khumo, we are giving them good reviews..

What do you think of Falken 512's. I have a set alround on a Furbie vRS 215/40/17 Good in the dry, Good if it's really wet and I mean Wet.......Anything else " PANTS".......................Andy

Bridgestone potenza so2 pole positions

Budget range look at the Kumho supra 712, its being superceded by the KU31 so prices are falling...I`ve just put them on my 18`s at about

Not a fan of the Michelins, the Pilot are better than the Primacy, but neither are as grippy as Goodyear Eagles. A lot of folks seem to like the Pirelli P-Zeros too. On the other hand the Michelins will last longer.
