In car camera

Featured Replies

I got a nice little dash cam for Xmas but have come across a small problem with the vRS.  When trying to work out how to fit it I realised the power point (cigarette lighter but don't say it too loudly!) is always live, even when the key is withdrawn from the ignition.

I want the cam to start when the engine starts, that was easy on the old car as the power point only became live with the ignition on.  Short of having to plug it in at the beginning and unplug it at the end of every journey I'm not sure what to do.

Advice appreciated as ever :D

I'm crap at this sort of thing and it's easy. Works a treat.

I just randomly plugged into spare fuse outlets until I found a switched one.

Same guide lol

Been a bit busy the last few weeks but I've ordered the parts, crimping pliers and bought a multimeter.  I investigated the fuse box today and identified the fuse for the rear wiper, seems like a sensible one to use.

You should know I'm a faffer. :D
