Anti Camera Plates

Featured Replies

Any such thing? Ones that can't be read by The yellow speed cameras?

I was once following an Audi Estate and when my lights shon onto the plate wit was weird in reflection, not sure if they had something on them.

They illegal too!

As with spraying reflecting paint on plates

Wrapping them in cling film

Or delaminating them - lol

What did u have in mind? ;-)

I lacquered a set on my van having repainted the letters on. Didn't really make a difference, novel idea but maybe try not to speed.

I heard they don't work anyway.

U got caught then? ;-)

Snake oil

If you are going to do some thing illegal like obscuring your number plates to avoid the beak, you might as well just take them off completely

or fit a jame bond-esque spinner thing so you can switch them at the right moment.

I remember watching something along the lines of police camera action several years ago where they showed that they didn't work. They just put the image in photoshop and negatived the image or moved the rgb/gamma sliders until the letters showed up.

I remember watching one where the plate appeared blank on the in-car ANPR screen in their Volvo.

They obviously just pulled him n did him for it.

That was that.

Mythbusters did a thing on all the beat the camera snake oils and none worked...

All well and good until your car is stolen, if ANPR or the speed camera's can't read them then the chances of it being found are surely reduced?

Definitely illegal I would imagine!

You can get plate spinners from the USA.

About £300 last time I looked.

I went to the cinema to watch that and you would not believe the roar/ applause in the theatre when that scene came on.

They used to put reflective digits on the plates which used to make the complete plate reflective but they only work on cameras that flash.

Not all cameras use flash so not worth bothering.

So if you get caught speeding, then they trace you anyway because the monkey plates don't work, do you get done for the separate offence of failure to display or whatever?  Obstruction? Perversion?

Attempting to pervert the course of justice, quite a serious offence

I've seen bikes with number plates so small they may as well have taken them off too!

They get pulled too

Some of my mates have got em. They get done from time to time

That's what we did years ago on the bikes

From the USA?  :wonder: but the video clearly says "made in Ukraine" :D

Anyway, illegal even in Ukraine.

Illegal in use, yes.

But fine to flip on a showplate for a track day/show etc...
