Confused again and thought that was a Crossword clue,

but solved it now.

(if there is a Skoda Service Campaign and not a Recall maybe worth getting that thread 'Pinned'.)

That's the one! Getting old now, memory is going....

  • Well I've finally collected my RS3.   So I thought I would share my initial thoughts and photos:-           Two RSs together:-   The car is really easy to drive as I was so nervous d

  • Not sure an M2 is ideal for the commute.  Or loading the family in. Also the 1 series can't have adaptive cruise, so not sure about the 2. Wanted something a bit more sensible as I have a quick week

  • Nah, leave him be, the 7R forums will eat him alive, at least here we know where he is and it beats care in the community

I've just put my order in today for an RS3.

As it was an existing dealer order but still customisable with its build date around February with delivery in March.

Not that long a wait now.

Look forward to seeing an owner review. :) Did you spec anything extra sporty on it?

I took a test drive in a basic A3 and it was really nice so looking forward driving the RS3 when I get it.

I wanted my first drive of an RS3 as I pick mine up.

I did choose one or two little things. lol

Here is my order specs:-

•Y6 Catalunya red, metallic

•QB Super Sports seats stitching in Crescendo red

•WB3 Comfort and sound package

•WB4 Technology package featuring Audi Connect

•WB0 Dynamic package

•VW1 Privacy glass

•6XE Folding Door mirrors

•UH2 Hold assist.

•KA2 Reversing camera

A bit worried about choosing red as it can look orange in some videos and photos.

When I saw it at Goodwood Festival of Speed it looked ok though.

Wow that is a little brave! Although you already have a quick Audi so I am guessing you will be more than happy with the RS3. Love the seats :)

So Keith are you getting one?? :)

Keith wants you to have them all, or all to have them? :)

Wish he would buy one then we'd know :D

I want Richard to try them all and reference between the Fiesta and the Nissan.

He has placed an up front Deposit already on the Ford Focus RS, after the Audi RS3 turned out to be little disappointing.

So I'm sure there will be plenty to read about , when Ford get their production fingers out and start delivering into the UK.

I like owner reviews. Much more 'honest' as the owner is not only familiar with all the 'best bits' that strike you on a test drive, but also the foibles and subtle annoyances that manifest over time.

I have sold my Fiesta ST3 now, as much as I loved it.

Downsizing fleet as getting out of control.  Nobody needs 12 cars.

Not that it's important, but I haven't got round to cancelling my deposit on the RS3.  Need to do that.

Yes, I have put a deposit on the Focus RS.  Not a huge one, but like the RS3 it gets me a place in the queue.

However, as we are looking at cars with are good on the road, lacking in excitement but have plenty of speed and not much fun on track (Ref: RS3) I am looking at something completely different.

With a higher price tag (ticks the box for boasting in the general car section) but overall lower ownership/running costs than the RS3 despite a higher sticker price and better performance/toys.

Good daily.  Good toy.

Makes far more sense that one jack of all trades.

Yes, the new RS3 engine is a lightly tweaked version of the old one pretty much.

And that would do 420bhp with breathing mods and a remap.

One of the things I like about the engine is how tunable it is, yet retains great drivability due to it's 5 pot 2,500cc capacity.

It's doesn't make good figures but become laggy like the smaller capacity 4 pots.

Why sell the Audi A8 then Boss?

Why not? :D

I assumed that's why my little 1er has pretty good pick up from low revs, at least for a turbo car. Big-ish engine that's not overly turbo'd. lag is very small and there is no sudden build up of urge, which is useful in the wet :D

Would you consider the M2? Probably as near to a deprecation BMW as they will make for a couple of years (although i8's still seem to be expensive second hand).

I can't be bothered and I doubt enough people care.

After a "oh, look at this" when it arrives there won't be much to write.

Wanted something a bit more sensible as I have a quick weekend/track/race car anyway.

I ordered it yesterday, due at the end of the year.

It's a Tesla.

I always fancied (well 'always' might be a bit strong, bit like some teenager saying "it's all I ever wanted" on the X Factor - but I digress) adaptive cruise, at least until I got it on my little Vitara. Luckily it's not exactly a rocket ship, so that helps the 'moving over to an empty inside lane and accelerating inadvertently up the inside of the middle lane hogger' syndrome. I Imagine it might be more of a problem in a fast car :D

Tesla though, wow! By the time you get it in will have had another software update and have a 'Really really insane, ludicrous, mind warp' mode. Which model are you getting btw?

The middle one, as it has the best range.  90D.

0-62mph is 4.2 seconds (not 3.2 or 2.8 now) but that's enough for a 2,100kg in a big family car.

To go a second quicker to 62mph (Insane mode) is an extra £15k, then an extra 0.4 seconds on top (Ludicrous mode) is another £8k (23k) on top of that.  And you lose 10% range.

Other than the upgrades to hoon off like a GT-R there is no difference in specification or gadgets.  I'll have to manage with a time of 4.2 seconds and a claimed range of 350 miles.

As a company purchase it makes a lot of sense, will cost me the same as a new Octavia over 3 years once you factor in tax savings, fuel savings and Telsa's guarantee buy back at 50% of the purchase price.
