XDS activation on Octavia 3

I noticed that XDS is now mentioned in the later Octavia 3 brochures. Non VRS models don't show XDS under 'safety features on the earlier brochures.

Looks like Skoda has now 'added' it on later models. I wonder if the car magazines would notice it on a road test?

I am pretty sure my Mk1 VRS had XDS as it had the optional 'ESP'brake controllerbeing a run out 2005 model.

I checked the Norwegian brouchure for MY15 (my car), and it lists XDS on all models.

It became standard from MY15 didn't it?

Good question. On the pricelist from June 2014 (so still my15) its not even mentioned on any model.

It was in the pricelist from January 2015 it was listed.

Hi, I have a Jan '16 brochure and XDS is standard on the VRS

Today I managed to change my XDS setting from 'Standard' to 'Strong'. :)

Mine is a MY14 Elegance with '5Q0 907 379 R' ABS controller.

The adaptation channel is called 'No display' in current version of VCDS.

I made some tests on wet road with full throttle while cornering and I think I can feel the difference. :)

I did not notice any change with normal driving though.

More testing will follow...

I've already done this on mine, but it makes no difference.  I think XDS first needs to be activated.

XDS was standard from launch of the vRS, in the uk atleast.

It seems you are right.

I did a few runs today with 'not activated' setting and did not feel any difference. :S

I had a look at my PDF brochures.

October 2013 - vRS XDS SE model & upwards - on 4x4 only

Jan 2015 - S model & upwards has XDS

(I don't have it on my tablet, but I think the June 2015 brochure shows same XDS info. Also same time 3 spoke steering wheel became standard).

Knew it was something to do with 2015 when it became standard :)

On the german forum they suggest enabling bit 1 and/or bit 2 on Byte 23.

Unfortunately this made no difference in my case. I tried all 3 combinations.

My inner wheel is still spinning, like on my video.

Probably this is not the complete coding or my ABS controller doesn't support this feature.

No luck here. :(

I noticed yesterday looking in 03 ABS Brake that ESP is 'not activated'?

Odd. I thought that ESP was always on? Maybe it means something else.

Maybe @andyvee might know?

Channel name isn't 100% correct.

VAS shows the same channel as 'ESP only in higher speed range' or something like that.

I have read about it somewhere.

Mine is not activated as well, but I definitely have ESP.
