It's the same in my Spaceback.

The same black/aluminium combo as the other spaceback, or the same finish as in mine? Is it a spaceback thing?

  • I can't believe you bought a car then hate the wheels and interior,  didn't you go look at one?   Must admit I didn't like the 15" standard SE alloys on offer, nor did I like the bland what seems al

  • chinese indeed. I question the suppliers about compatibility before I buy always. i have seen an indian rapid or two and the front looks like a fabia. it is an odd looking beast indeed

Sorry, realised my last reply was a big vague. The steering wheel inserts are the same colour as the dash inserts on my Spaceback - metallic silver in my case.

Delberthot - which rims have you got? Are they the 15inch rims?

Yes I have the 15" Carme Alloys.

Went to look at a used Elegance Spaceback originally but came away with an SE Sportpack. Much preferred the matching black inserts, rather than the miss matched black insert on the steering wheel and aluminium on the dash of the Elegance spec. Also found the sport seat design more supportive and comfortable.

Interesting that the Elegance spec has now been ditched for the Spaceback at least and replaced with the SE Sport, which is a similar spec to ours.

my point entirely. the elegance 'upgrades' are an armrest that gets in the way and dubious fabric colours and mismatched trim. it is nothing to aspire to. for me the skoda strengths are functionality, practicality and build quality. laughable interior styling should be left for ford fiesta owners. I prefer my car interior to be old school rather than madcap rocket ship.

That's the thing I like about my car - the interior does look quite classy. From the spaceship interior of the Honda with more buttons that I could even need to use and lights to having something simple, functional and looks good.

I actually like how plain it is with the Swing radio as well

Noticed the SE Spaceback had matching inserts (except radio facia) for the steering wheel and dash but the number of Elegance spec I sat in did not, unless they had the sport seat option. Didn't look right to me, whereas the complete piano black trim with the sportpack looks spot on and I prefer it to the previous Octy III interior.

I don't like the skoda badge, never have. I like the big R and have put it front and back as replacements. I will when I have the patience also remove the s.k.o.d.a letters from the rear end. I am thinking of the big R in mini form for the wheel centres, just haven't decided yet whether to replace the diones. I should be saving the bucks though as we are moving in may to a new house.

gawd knows what you'll say when I get round to posting a pic of my kickplates :-)

Deffo not a fan!!! I prefer my badge that's entirely black. But I guess that's personal preference. :)

I thought of the black badge, but not for long. I went for the chrome/steel look with the white car rather than go down the goth route :-)

Hahaha, goth at heart I'm afraid. ;)

no-one's noticed the small print on the plate

I saw it, didn't have an opinion one way or the other on it hence no comment. It's a road legal plate - that's the only thing that matters to me.

What does "R" stand for anyway?

Is it Rapid?

R=replaced with inferior looking bonnet trinket :)

The Black version of the R is definitely the better looking of the two versions.

have you fitted your new bulbs yet? I work away from home most weeks and the current mrs inspector has informed me by telephonic communication this evening that my bulbs have been delivered. they will have to wait until saturday to be seated in their new home now

Got the new bulbs today, but it was peeing down when I left work, so I'll wait until tomorrow to fit.

but at least I can remove my bonnet trinket. you can do nothing about your ugly boot trinket..... namely the spaceback :-)

Why would I want to remove my boot lid? That makes no sense?

Do you have a picture of the whole back end with badge on the rear? The Superskoda website only had a picture of it on a blue Rapid

I will post rear end badge pic at weekend when I am home

And I think it looks much better without the "Skoda" & "Rapid" badges either side. I took mine off a couple of weeks ago
