Any idea what power (at the wheels not fly) can be expected from an Impossible Performance remap?

Wheel power and torque is the only useful measurement if you ask me. That's what a chassis dyno will measure, and that's what you put down on the road. If you have more wheel power than someone else with the same car, you will be faster. And it doesn't matter how much fly-wheel power the other claims to have, the higher wheel power figure will always win.

Wheel power is also much more difficult to fudge the figures for on the dyno.

My Red vRS has not been on the rollers with the engine and gearbox running correctly of late but my old Black one with an Upsolute (IP) Chip managed 221bhp ATWs and 263ft/lb.

I assume your black car had a K04 or E05 / similar charger fitted? Nice!!

Nope! Everything was standard.

It was running a KO3 though.

A good amount of torque must have been carried in the high rev range to achieve that. I'd be interested to see the plot and list of mods along with the details of the Upsolute map.

Not that I would but if you were to run 50 shot of Nos with a KO3 with a remap, would the your rolling road figure go up by 50ish bhp. If the answer is yes then it is possible to get above 220bhp with a KO3 equiped car, mods do make a difference, some more than others. Anyone that knows my old black will back me up on the figures so will the rollers it has been on and the crowds that were there.

Oh and i've got bits of paper to prove it.

That makes sense. Did you have a progressive controller on bring the NOS in a set revs or was it just on a WOT trigger and the full shot?

So, if you didnt run NOS then what mods did you have to get over 220 WHP?

What were your fly figures? 270hp and 300lbs torque approx?

BTW I am serious and would love more than 207WHP from my K03sport until I finally cave in and go for an IHI.

Gary I believe Des is saying he did have NOS, a quick search seems to back this up and Des came to the conclusion that it was only worth having for 1/4 mile use and was also detrimental to engine longevity.

I drove James' Octavia K03 and Nitrous... 320bhp ATFW.

It was fun

Now then, to get an extra 90bhp ATFW on a 1.8T, you're doing well!

Apart from a remap, these are all the performance parts I can think of for the 1.8T, while keeping the standard turbo:

FMIC with Samco Pipes

Ported and Polished Head

Increased Capacity to 2.0l

Turbo Back Exhaust with either de-cat or sports cat

Nitrous Oxide

Nitrous/CO2 IC Spray

Balanced Internals

4bar FPR

Bigger Injectors

He did but doesn't want to say publically for his own reasons. He's talking 'theoretically'. Just like certain other members would imply it's there mate's car that is modified or that there tuned TDI is infact an SDI.
