New engines/facelift

Featured Replies

New engines will enter production on week 22, I suppose all the electronics will be changed at the same time. Some rumours the rest of the facelift won't arrive until September so there may be some 'hybrids' in the interim.

New engines should be as follows:

1.2tsi 90ps

1.2tsi 110ps

1.4tsi 125ps

1.4tdi 75ps

1.4tdi 90ps

1.6tdi 110ps

  • With the frequency with which the specifications on modern cars are amended/updated and options are added and removed, this comment could apply at any time... they're no different to things like mobil

  • Here's something that was in front of my eyes but I hadn't noticed: The seat frame trim has been added to the production since 26/1/2015. (Unluckily my car left the production line on 22/1/2015 ) So

  • If the facelift has the heated windscreen, Xenon Lights and is more closely matched with modern electronics (i.e one touch up down windows) then I'm looking at my next car

WE WANT A VRS............WE WANT A VRS...............and so on

Wonder if the 1.4TSI will continue to be DSG only, be nice if they gave a manual option.

I'm wondering if I should have waited to buy my Rapid.

I was thinking this now [emoji57]

It's nice to skoda is updated the rapid engines but I like to see a 2.0 TDI and a vRS in the model range

1.2TSI 110ps only £30 rtax

Are there any pics of the new model? Google just comes up with Indian ones which I think are different again.

Probably, yes. I expect the new engines will all be slightly better on C02, although I think you can get the current 105tsi in the £30 bracket if you opt for greentech?

1.2mpi will also be dropped and not replaced.

And hopefully the next gen 1.2 will have better fuel economy seeing Skoda claim the new Fabia with this engine can do 60mpg (yeah right) [emoji57]

The new tsi engines are supposed to be less susceptible to driving style, and also warm up quicker because the exhaust manifold is integrated into the cylinder head.

Ah abit like the Citigo [emoji106]

Very true, and I always try to buy an outgoing model due to it having had all the kinks ironed out (in theory). The 110ps engine would be nice though

Not to mention the money you save...  previously I've managed 35%+ discounts buying the pre-facelift stock.

e.g. right now - brand new Toledo SE petrol less than 11k on autotrader.  The only major change on the new one is LED lights.

Hopefully the interior will get a facelift the plastic dash and cheap looking seats will go for something closer to the golf than a 1980's mk4 escort, and also if no vrs maybe the monrecarlo in the spaceback

in my rapid (my 2015) there are many accessories you speak of such xenon and sports seats ...the english versions don't have this accessories?

Xenons would be nice...I had them previously on 2 Octavia's and I miss them now,

Xenons are an expensive option on the Rapid currently. Sports seats are standard in the Sport, and an option in the Elegance.

Also in Italy xenon is an optional but improve safety and the look in my opinion ;)

Nope, I got muddled up. I spent ages speccing up Octavias and Rapids and mixed the 2 sets of options up. Sorry, no Xenons in the UK on the Rapid.

Poor Rapid misses out on so many things [emoji19]
