How about this:

Race blue. totally loaded spec. £4k off a new one.

Ooh that Toledo looks great and a realistic price too :)

Waiting to hear back from insurance company as to the perceived value prior to incident price... :( but I very much doubt they'll give me that much!

I think you're doing well to have a smart safe car like the Rapid at your time of life.

When our kids were that age we had a 10 year old Renault 11 with starship miles and a totally clapped out 12yo Sierra Ghia. Total spent - £450 for both :)

Do you have GAP insurance (I'm assuming you bought the car on finance rather than paid cash)?

Agree totally. When my kids were small I had a 2003 Skyline GTR. Totally unpractical. :(

Surely there is surface rust on the disc because it has been left standing for a while? My discs start to rust immediately if I wash the car with the hose or pressure washer.

Mine too.

You were lucky I had a Skoda........

I kid you not an Estelle, and after that a Lada Riva. Then I got really flush and had a Renault 6, carried a brick in the boot as the handbrake didn't work.

I thought you did not like the car any longer? I know if I was in your shoes then the last thing I would be inclined to do would be clean it.

I'm older than you think ;) and we had a little help from my wife's parents. We did have a VW Golf 2004 (as safe I would assume as it was the mk5) I happen to have worked in the trade for a number of years and then took a career change in to youth work. We realise that we're fortunate to have everything that we do :)

Nope payed cash and didn't have GAP...

JonBRapid yours was the Meadens Rapid wasn't it?

I don't that's right. But I've no choice at the moment. If I'm to give it back it will be inspected for condition so I need to keep it clean(ish) :)

It will be within Skodas Fair Wear & Tear rules even though I will need to replace the n/s/f wheel as it's arguable.

yep thats right

Just stuck on with double-sided tape, rather than panel clips.

they look good any chance cost wise?

As I said previously, they were factory fitted on mine so have no idea on unit cost. You would need to talk to your dealer parts counter to get an aftermarket price.

Very smart!

Ah that colour is the best :)
