New focus rs - looks a bit pants imho...

Featured Replies

VW ripping people off with golf R? Really?

Not when you get 20% off or a cracking PCP deal. As you know Kenny.

Ha Ho.

  • And I've gone right off the RS3 idea. £40k plus for a car that#'s slower than my Yeti and has an automatic box...

  • I'd have one in a heartbeat if I had the money

  • Be it 'chav' or not. This and it's 400 ponies bring a smile to my face. The more I've seen of the mk3 the more I've come around to it. Purely for its driving characteristics. My local ford don't

From what I've read on FocusRSOC and on Briskoda , most people are spec'g the RS at about £33k. So it will be interesting to see what package deal will be available from Ford Finance/Dealers nearer delivery. Not sure if anything is being mentioned now if you are placing a "real" order.

The looks of the new Focus RS are really starting to grow on me. Had a play on the configurator earlier and I have to say it certainly don't think it looks pants anymore. Sure the interior won't be up to the best German standards but as an overall package it's looking good. If they get it sounding good then I might even be tempted at some stage lol!

What you and Amanda even thinking of moving from a 6 to 4?

"I don't believe it"?

Or are you considering changing the wife's vRS

If they haven't improved that development exhaust note for the production released model,it will still be okay in the Countryside around Truro as the locals will be impressed with your wealthy sounding agricultural racer look! lol

I'm definitely a fast-ford fan Keith :-). Loved the mk2 Focus ST I had. Wouldn't rule out getting another even if it was 4-cyl but wouldn't fork out for the RS unless it did actually sound good. I'd actually be tempted to get a fiesta ST next purely in terms of value for money and fun (and for something entirely different)! Had a drive in one the other week and it was a riot. :-)

Tom,

Milltek and others will undoubtedly have a solution within 6 months I feel sure

Can you put your buggy in the back of the Fiesta ST lol. No,then that would cause a riot with the better half then!

Weirdly it does fit in a fiesta boot! One of our group has a zetec spec fiesta as a hire car out here in Portugal. I've tried the buggy and it just about fits! :-)

Yippee,no holding you back now then.3doors of ST? Restricted rear entry ,if you pardon the comment!

I was surprised how big the Fiesta is now when I had my ST.

Cracking car.

Haha watch this space! No plans to change either car this year tho :-)

Mini-Furbytom doesn't go in my car a huge amount but the 3-door thing is abit of a nuisance I'll admit. Still not necessarily a deal-breaker as we have the SWMBO wagon.

Holiday going fab although home tomorrow..... :-(

No spare wheel, space saver or full size. Just a repair kit shown on Configurator, does this suggest no space in boot location?

That will be the four wheel drive and exhaust then if similar to previous models.

In a dilemma now, Focus RS, Audi S3, or Golf R. It's going to be a difficult choice in the coming months, especially if the rumoured vrs with the Golf R powertrain actually comes to fruition, but I won't hold my breath on that one based on how long the 230 has taken to appear.

You've chosen a Golf R.

So I can why the worse render of the RS's front end I've ever seen wouldn't be your thing.

Nothing to do with my choice of 18 months ago.

However, think I may have a better worse look if that makes sense.

Blame the Evo snapper.

The RS is styled to stand out.

The Golf R is designed to blend in.

I'd say it has something to do with what people prefer/choose.

Not that I'd expect you to need to be negative about a car that's like it might give yours a good run for it's money of course...

I like the look of the RS very much. It says what it needs to say, given its market position. If that came up behind me, filling the rear view mirror, I'd be tempted to move out the way. When a Golf R comes up behind, I usually take a second to work out if its a 1.6 Bluemotion, GTi or R....!

Guess it's good to be in your face then, from your view point . Not subtle.lol

My order is in. Expecting to take delivery March 2016.

Gone for the Nitrious Blue colour.

Blackline will be getting traded in, or might try selling it private or see what WBAC offer come the time.

Have you spec'd yours yet Boss and placed your order?

Mine may be up for change by the time you get yours.

I might have an even bigger choice of new by then, who knows or the Oettinger route!

But keep it subtle:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iGSQF-dgylA:http://www.hgp-turbo.de/vw-golf-vii-r.html

Well done!

What options have you gone for?

Have you got any discount or a good trade-in value offered?

Edited by vrskeith

I've gone for Nitrious Blue, standard seats with blue inserts, lux pack, black forged alloys, blue calipers and sat nav. Total on road £31845.

No discounts! Couldn't bring myself to justify the cost of bucket seats (£1145) and to be honest my back will thank me for the softer standard seats which we are led to believe will be heated like in the ST3.

Have agreed a ball-park figure for trade-in but to be honest I'll get loads more selling it myself closer to the time.

Can't wait.

Sounds like a good spec without going OTT.

It will seem a long time until March but I'm sure worth the wait.Enjoy!
