  • And I've gone right off the RS3 idea. £40k plus for a car that#'s slower than my Yeti and has an automatic box...

  • I'd have one in a heartbeat if I had the money

  • Be it 'chav' or not. This and it's 400 ponies bring a smile to my face. The more I've seen of the mk3 the more I've come around to it. Purely for its driving characteristics. My local ford don't

That's a real shame, i saw one of the old ones go steaming past me at 3am this morñing with the 5 cylinder engine going full bore. Awesome engine derived from a porsche design. One of the best selling points of the flimsy focus rs. They've probably gone and ruined it now then.

Ford Eco-boost 2.3 4 cylinder engine with the wick turned up.  'Global Performance Ford'.

Lots of effort required to make it sound like anything with a 'RS' badge previously.

Bit of backend fun in the right hands!

Another CHAVY ford, no class and I can already see it adorning the drive on a council house. #sorry just saying

I would have no problem parking one on my drive :)

Badge snobs on a Skoda forum, lol

Just sayin' :)

Parking on the driveway with Retractable Bollards installed, Wheel Lock, Tracker Fitted & Quality Alarms in your property.

Then a 2nd vehicle required for going out in the evenings and leaving parked up.

Maybe a Fiesta ST or something less of a thief magnet.

Sorry,phone is crap.

Keith, your link descriptions aren't much any good as videos without any info attached makes it difficult for people who use the search engine - or others just liking to know what the video is before clicking! Maybe it'd be a good idea to wait until you've got access to a 'proper' computer before posting these things if that's possible? :notme:

In saying that, this 'On board Ford Focus RS 2016 @ Lommel Proving Ground' video shows that the seats are a bit exceedingly 'flimsy' for track day antics.

Cars may have lots of features, it doesn't mean you have to use them ;)

But will be bought by many who will use it. Insurance is less on cars you can't turn ESP off on, this should make it more. Plus I can see quite a few getting pinched.

I'm which case, sir, you have no place in a car enthusiasts forum! :)

I just hope you don't really think a beemer 320d is "better"?

Just sayin' :)

I don't think a BMW 320d is better but it's got a hell of a lot more class, it's blooming boring car though. I'm sorry if I've offended anyone but the Focus RS has no class, it's like a tracksuit or pair of white trainers.

How do you define "class" and why is that important?

In my eyes (only my opinion of course) owning a 3 series oil burner shows a similar level of thought as wearing white trainers and/or tracksuit (I presume you mean outside of a gym ie inappropriate).

Some quite interesting comments on this thread, so I just don't know where to start.

Think I'll give the whole thing a miss rather than start a forum bunfight.

Great opinions guys.

And as for a Skoda Rapid "sport" driver labelling the BMW 320d as boring...

Off to apply for a council house.

Skoda Rabid....

or the driver should be thought as such, if they think it comes near to a 3 series in any way for enjoyable driving.

The prices that Classic hot Fords are going for at the moment it might even be worth buying one and sticking it in the garage for 30-40 years. :)

Mk1 Escort RS's/Mexico's £50k+ , original Cossies £50k+ even an original restored Escort RS Turbo with 74k miles on for £30k

Don't see many old Skoda's doing that. Is that the difference between class and pedigree?

I don't actually know where the BMW 320d idea came from, certainly not me? Someone asked me if I thought it was better and I just said more classy but boring. If I had my choice of super car it would be a BMW M5 or M6, they will both become CHAVY in 10 or so years but for now great cars.

I take more offence at the council house comment.

You do know that Union Leaders, Members of Parliament, Peers of the realm etc live in council houses.

DOH,

But you a right,

CHAVY, John 2 Jags Prescott will probably get several.

And how much would a M5 or M6 rob you to drive like you own the road?

You really ought to read some of the sh it you are shovelling

Always fun to unleash the inner chav :-)

Sometimes a dirty burger is preferable to fine dining lol

Oh dear you are taking this seriously, look I don't have a problem with the car as such but it's my opinion and I think I'm still allowed one. The car isn't exactly subtle to look at, it's not very understated. It defiantly does appeal to people who like to put big loud exhausts on them and dump valves etc etc, all good lovely people I'm sure, I think we used to call them boy racers. To put it in simple terms the car is a bit like a shell suit and a Burberry baseball cap. I think Jeremey clarkeson referred to the last one as an ASBO on 4 wheels although he loved the way it drives and I imagine it's great to drive.

You are kidding are you not.

It is getting those getting on for middle age ex boy and girl racers wetting their pants over them.

Any respectable chav wants a Q Car, maybe something under the radar.

£30,000  of Factory Ford would have the pith taken out them down the job centre plus.

Defiantly

Now that's definitely chav terminology  :)

It seems like this thread is well and truly staying on topic!

I'm now wishing that I'd kept my Mk1 Mexico - what a nest egg that would have turned out to be. :-(

I once bought an ex council house and I like mk2 escorts, bet u didn't expect that now did you! I'd still feel like a di<+ driving a focus RS p.s I sold the council house when I realised I was the only one within the immediate area who went to work every day lol

You can afford to spend 30k + on a Ford then

Or indeed any brand of car, based on a value judgement though, rather than what colour sticker is on the boot and front grille.
