New focus rs - looks a bit pants imho...

Featured Replies

The RS is styled to stand out.

The Golf R is designed to bland in.

A very small edit to your post, Boss, hope you don't mind :)

  • And I've gone right off the RS3 idea. £40k plus for a car that#'s slower than my Yeti and has an automatic box...

  • I'd have one in a heartbeat if I had the money

  • Be it 'chav' or not. This and it's 400 ponies bring a smile to my face. The more I've seen of the mk3 the more I've come around to it. Purely for its driving characteristics. My local ford don't

I'd like a mk3 but not at the cost of my mk2, that's staying.

Keith have you really been trawling the Focus forums for this? Jeez.....

Honestly just be happy with your choice/car and don't worry about anyone else. You are coming across as very threatened by this car. :-o

What you and Amanda even thinking of moving from a 6 to 4?

"I don't believe it"?

I'm not! I love the 6, especially the straight 6. Only a flat 6 or a V8 would be a realistic upgrade for me :) Doesn't mean my next car won't be a 4 cylinder, but that's part of the changing times and probably my reduced income thanks to the Governments heavier taxing of us small Limited Companies :(

318bhp and 4x4, sure it will go ok, but looks are hmmm.... 35min video, but scroll to 24 mins...

If you lost the boot spoiler I would like the looks.  :) Something solid about it.

Mind you the Mexico 1800 and Droop Snoot RS2000 Escort were aspirational things in my youth. All the cool guys at work had them :) I like a fast Ford (Please bring back the Capri)

And jokes about hedgehogs?? :)

Where would your Ford £30k go?

Focus RS 2016 4X4 or a Ford Mustang 2016 ( lowest spec)

You know what....id push the boat out for a base 5.0 V8 33k. For UK supposedly will come with a performance pack with 6 piston brembos, 19's and UK specific suspension tuning and an LSD stock.

Sure the RS will probably be the quicker and more accurate weapon and the Mustang wont be without its quirks....but its a RHD, warranted and v cheap 414hp V8 muscle car and I think it will be infinitely more interesting and fun to live with...so long as you can live with 20mpg and 299 CO2 output.

I had a new 2010 5.0 GT 412hp as a hire car whilst in Canada and MY GOD what a hoot....went like the clappers, sounded amazing, revved to 7k....to my amazement actually handled and stopped like a performance car...was devestated to hand it back....the new one is bound to be better still.

Think Chris Harris has done a video not sure which spec though.

Check the 299 bit, just in case it's important.

Anyone know why the weight of this car is? Seems to be a secret?

No power to weight ratio, fuel consumption ,emmisions / road tax etc. Only approx 6 month before delivery into UK showrooms

So it doesn't have a muhassive spoiler and shout at you.

That's fine as it's an RS, now they just need to let cosworth near it, slap a whale tail on it and we're living in the 80's again :D

Does anyone know if Ford have increased it's starting price on the Focus RS as from today?

The articles this week said the amount of deposits placed had been boosted by the Base Price of £28,940 being released,

so has this supposedly now gone up since Autocar was published?

How much supposedly, and is this from a RS Forum?   or Ford UK?

Yep. Price has gone up £1000.

Yep. Price has gone up £1000.

Saved a grand then - well done you.

Does this now mean that the RS and the Honda Type R are  pretty much at the same starting price?

Nope.....I've cancelled my order. The rapidly falling trade-in figure for my Blackline Octavia has scuppered me.

My plan now is too sit back and wait and see what happens with the VW group values. If they don't recover, I may have to try and keep the Octavia and purchase an RS without trading-in. It would become somewhat of a garage-queen and I'm not sure I can justify that to SWMBO.

Skoda Octavia Blackline trade in values if low has nothing to do with VW Emissions in the past month have they,?

they were depreciating just like other Skoda & VWG vehicles early in September.

They go out of Manufacturers Warranty and out of favour.

A mate of mine has put a deposit down on one, needs to spec it, expected delivery March/April 2016.
