I can confirm it works after a new local octy 3 (L&K top spec too!) came to me today to have some coding done.

It was a pleasure to also give the car a brief "new car" treatment to seal in what was a pretty good paint finish given it was a demonstrator for several months.

I could have removed them as were in the guide, but owner said not to bother. As he's only half mile down the road can always be sorted later.

I did find traffic sign recognition locked out though. Wonder if skoda have realised people are just turning that on with vcds without paying for it?

From memory it blocked me from 2 areas of adaption in the instrument section / 5F electronics.  I would need to refer to the guide to be honest.  I gave up after two "exceeded limits" warnings when trying to change not active to active.

It was these 2 steps which failed

 

Controller 5F (Information Electrical)

10 - Adaptations

Select channel: (63) vehicle function list BAP traffic_sign_recognition_0x21

Adjust Value to activated

 

Channel: (151) vehicle menu select-service menu_display_road_sign_identification

Adjust Value to activated

You need to come all the way out of the controller, go back in and try again. You had been timed out at a guess.

I don't think so.  I went straight in to adaptions after putting in the security code..  I could have another crack I suppose.

There isn't a security code needed for 5F - only for A5 when enabling VZE (Traffic Sign Recognition)

 

What Infotainment unit was fitted?

So why should there be a timeout for no security code?  Seems odd (I probably entered that code (I want to say 31365) when activating the boot fob opening actually )

You will get timed out of the adaptations if you don't find them quickly enough. Plus, if you come out of adaptations you can't go back in without coming all the way out of the module first.

Hi - sorry for nicking your car! It is very nice though!

 

It has a Columbus and lane camera so in theory it should have worked. Jason also tried to activate the needle sweep on start up but it would not allow it. Mirror dipping on reverse was also activaited, but it only moves a small amount. It does not go back to home position unless you turn the engine off. Something amis but not sure what. It was easy to deactivaite in the infotainment.

 

Any idea how to delete the old Sales Manager's iPhone? I have my two in but cant find how to delete his!

Pop back round if you fancy attacking the traffic sign recognition again  Maybe I just need to be quicker but with so many adaptions and so many in bloody German too, it's tough!  And I am half German and relatively OK with the langauge

That is really strange. I did not have any problems with doing this tweak. Is your car model year 2015?

 

Mirror dipping on reverse was also activaited, but it only moves a small amount. It does not go back to home position unless you turn the engine off.

On Octy 3 mirror dip really moves only a small amount, but it should go back up automatically, when you exceed 15 km/h or turn the engine off.

Yeah, the needle sweep was an odd one as activated that loads of times on other cars yet this one decided to say the new coding was outside the range, or something like that.  It was only changing a 4 to a 5 I think in the coding.  Very strange.

Hi - It is a demonstrator so three months old. It will be a late build being an L&K. Is Oct 42-4-3940 the build date on the data plate?

I would say that the cable (or the car, or the tweaker) needed a few minutes of brake and that should probably solve it.

I'd only (successfully) done the fob boot opening before it stopped me doing needle sweep and then failed to let me do the traffic sign thing too.  I've got the latest full VCDS too, so can't really blame the hardware. :(

You have memory mirrors don't you? It should be spot on if you store the positions.
