Sorry having issues posting..... My question was has anyone had a fixed towbar with 13 pin electrics fitted to their new estate and if it interferes with the parking sensors when not towing. My current 2012 FL has this towbar and I have no issues but I notice the sensors are fitted lower in the bumper on the new estate.

A correctly fitted and coded towbar will disable the rear sensors when towing, as well as change the ABS and stability control and also disable Eco drive mode

Thanks for the reply. I'm going to get the proper wiring kit and it will be coded so I know that when towing the sensors will be disabled. What I'm concerned about is whether the sensors are going to pick up the towbar/electrics when I reverse when not towing. Thanks

You can get a removable bar so no issues when not towing

Here in Norway the oem towbar has a 7pin connector, will it be a big prosedure to swap for a 13pin later on?

My elegance turned up yesterday in the uk, with the detachable towbar and 13 pin socket that flips out from under the back bumper

I then got a 13 to 7 pin adaptor in a bag, inside with the towbar arm

Do you know if your towbar was 13 pin from the factory or if it was dealer fit when it landed here? Want a factory 13 pin towbar but Skoda UK have said they arrive as 7 pin and then get modified by the dealer on arrival, dealers I spoke to say that is not the case

To be honest I would sooner have it factory fitted or do it myself, it bothers me a bit that no one (officially) seems to know

Mine was a factory order, so was from factory as a 13 pin as far as I know....

I didn't request specifically a 7 or 13 pin socket, so can't imagine it was changed, and the adaptor Is sealed up in a plastic bag, will check in the morning again, when wife gets home from work

The socket is stamped VW and Audi on the cover

In Denmark we also get 13 pin as standard, a 13->7 pin adapter incl.
