2016 Scout - new wheels?

Featured Replies

On the verge of ordering a Octavia Scout and was just looking at a video on youtube which shows a white Scout at the Geneva motor show, clad in some very nice 18" alloys.

Anyone know if these are available to order? I know the 2016 updates are imminent so wondered if they are likely to be an option, because if they are then I think they might be on the options list!

On my mobile so can't see too well but they just look like the pictorius wheels which are option on vrs I think? I think idea with scout is smaller wheels but bigger side wall to tyre for better off-road / noise / pot hole reasons?

No, sorry Exeterj, these are definitely NOT the Pictorius alloys, these alloys are not in the Octavia brochure anywhere - they're new! Any ideas anyone?

Are the ones on the superb 2015 elegance pictorius also or same as these?

They are 'Trinity' 18" alloys - normally available on the Superb

Whilst very nice looking, they look a real PITA to clean.

Agreed, no fun to clean but look far better than the two options on the 2015 release.

They are a very nice looking wheel and look good on the scout

Anyone from any dealerships know if these wheels are going to become available with the 2016 updates, or were they just put on the show Car?

I was just thinking the other day how glad I am I picked the Ilias rims for the winter tires. So easy to open the valve caps without getting your hands covered in brake dust. This certainly wasn't the case with the 15 spoke rims on our Volvo.

They are a pain in the bum to clean that's for sure!

Jasper, they're standard fitment on the Elegance spec Superb, I'm sure you could get hold of them now if you wished.

In reality do you want 18's on a Scout? As i was thinking in my first post, as the reason we are getting a Scout is for the rough road / off-road capabilities and the less harsh ride than our vRS hence looking forward to the higher side wall benefits of the 17" tyres and increased travel on suspension for the B roads and lanes around here.

This makes 100% sense to me. But I've picky tastes since after trying 18" a couple of times, I opted for the less weight and momentum of the 17" also for "standard" roads and sometimes brisk driving style.

Not seen anything regarding the wheels being added as an option on MY changeover BUT no reason (other than offsets I suppose?) why they wouldn't swap straight from a 'Perb to the Octavia.

That will be just like getting a SUV, and then lowering it :p

Funny you say that, thats exactly my thought - i was in Northern Ireland once for work and saw a Honda CRV (we have one currently so i notice them) that had been lowered and had big alloys - just made it look like a normal but then rather ugly car!

A lowered CRV, that must be a sight!

I actually have them om my Corrida Red Estate - but in anthracit grey metallic colour. That might remove the pain of cleaning them....
