HI trying to source a manual for my car, the free dowloads on the site link given for manuals don't seem to go back to a model this old - can anyone help? Ideally free! 

Which model.size engine you need to cover?

It's almost certainly an MPI if it's a 2001 classic, age makes little difference, the car didn't change much, as long as you have the engine covered the rest will be the same.

I think you mean Owner's Manual/Handbook, the one that's usually in the little semi-secret compartment under the false floor of the glove box? If so (and you don't find it there) here's a link to the version I've got: click. It's dated 2007, I think, but most content will be relevant to early cars, I imagine.

Or did you mean a Haynes-type or proper workshop manual?

sorry it's actually 1.4 - force of habit last car was 1.2 - and it is the Owners handbook /manual I'm after. Didn't know about 'false floor' will check that out and get back to you !

false floor of the glovebox ? i've just had a look but cant see any false floor. could you explain how to get to this ? thanks

Pop a finger under the front edge of the floor you can see, via the little pit on the right under the light. The floor hinges up to reveal Narnia.

There's where I've found my manual ... 2 years ago  

hmm had a look, took everything out , but before I saw this helpful pic. There didn't seem to be any false floor but will have another look tomorrow - tho it looks as if the inside right side is different - don't think mine has a light or that switch   - overall I am doubtful it exists! .
