Time to bring this up to date...

 

This Saturday a few of us (drivers, pit crew and watchers) will be at Brands Hatch for the CSCC meeting, taking place using the Indy Circuit.

 

Race 3 is Tin Tops.

Race 4 is Swinging 60s.

 

We entered 4 cars in the Tin Tops race, but as one of them was rather worse than I realised a replacement was found.

However, Blue Book rules to stop you blocking spaces means a change of car sees you moved to the back of the queue for grid slots so the Honda Civic is 4th reserve and we are not sure if it'll be out on the day.  Depends how others fare in pepping and testing....

 

The cars taking part are:

 

Tin Tops.

51 Ford Focus 2000cc - Danny

53 Ford Fiesta 2000cc - Richard

56 Ford Puma 1700cc - Paul

Provisionally - 50 Honda Civic 1600c - Rob. (currently 4th reserve on a 34 car grid)

Also Damo is booked in with his 2000cc Fiesta wearing number 52.

 

Swinging 60s.

80 Lotus Elan 1600 - Richard/Paul

 

I have opted to share my drive in the Elan as if my Fiesta lasts the whole race I will be completely knackered and jumping straight into the Lotus...

So we'll be swapping drivers in the pitstop, so I can rolling out of it, drink a bottle of water and pass out.

You have to make the call in advance, not on the day.  Hence the decision.

 

Qualifying starts at 9:00.

Tin Tops at 10:20.

 

Racing starts at 13:20.

Shame about the Civic but hopefully it gets on. Either way I'll be down helping out wherever is needed.

Yes racing the Elan could be troublesome, straight afterwards, as both you and Paul will be knackered. Hopefully a small downtime in between will be enough to take on some fluids and re-hydrate/re-energise yourself.

A few tubes of red bull and a shot of adrenaline should do the trick,... I can recommend lidls own brand, though 16 tubes in 4 hours is probably a little excessive, the bloody heart palpitations kept me awake for two days....
