Has anyone put together a checklist for picking up their new car? We're getting our elegance estate in a couple of weeks and was wondering if there was list, i.e. Amundsen software?

The key is to take your time, picking up a new car should be a time of pleasure and enjoyment but don't let that cloud your view.

Take as long as you need, don't let the dealer rush you, if it's not right, let the dealer know before driving off, as soon as you leave their premises, any cosmetic issues especially could be argued as wear and tear in your ownership and not their responsibility.

Just had a look at the official Maintenance manual i uploaded on this thread http://www.briskoda.net/forums/topic/355687-service-specifications/ and noted it has the skoda side PDI list if this helps - at least we know what they actually are supposed to do.

Everything was fine upon collection, speed bumps indicate transport blocks have been removed. Tyre pressures were all even. Coolant conservatively filled but not low enough to complain about.

 

The only negative is the windscreen and dashboard vents reflecting in the windscreen and side windows respectively, I'm going to try some anti reflective spray on the areas.

How do I find out, the dealer gave me an SD in a case which seemed to be independent of the car arriving?

Go into settings and version information or something like that

 

Hang on, Skoda have a nice pdf for the MIB1, should be reasonably similar.

The nav SD cards are sent separately, Simpsons told me that they have a habit of going missing when just left with the car on it's way from the factory to dealer!

They are indeed sent separately, hence why some people have ended up without a maps SD card!
