  • Put the wet weather kit on and went and did my Advanced Test.... and passed

  • You're right, I've just undone one and the lip on the pipe extrudes out of the block so it's pressing against that.

  • Finished! That's 2016 done.

Hmm i think i will mate. Im off in a couple of weeks so ill speak to the garage who put it in (ive got all the paperwork) and book it in.

I just hope they dont make a fluff up and bugger the bike, or leave any dodgey connections...

Yeah, removing the plug and play Datatool on mine was a much simpler affair.

Warranty?

He bought it from miles away.

Doubt theyd pay for the transport

Probably cheaper to fix

Yeah, I know, but a decent dealer would pick it up, given that he's only had it a few days.

Most would tell you to 'bring it back n we'll take a look' From my experience.

Just curious, dya reckon theyre legally abliged to pick it up?

Either way, hes capable, so hardly worth the hassle?

Dunno, probably not. If it's a simple fix then, as you say, probably simpler to do it yourself (and not risk the dealer mechanic scratching panels etc, but if it needs parts, then you'd want the dealer to supply them.

Well I picked up the new exhaust gasket for my Motad exhaust for the Tiger.  You would have thought a new exhaust like that the baffles would last a bit longer before they 'fell out'! :notme:

Was going to test ride it today now I have managed to stop it blowing at the joint courtesy of the new gasket alas as it is raining I am going to do a 'Striple'.  Still it should be OK for Saturday when we are going to a fellow RATS house for a party with many others on their bikes.  Apparently he doesn't get on with his neighbour so it won't matter if it is a bit loud will it?

Bikers party ? What could possibly go wrong ?!!;

No raping pillaging or biting the heads off live chickens as we are all old farts and will be tired come 9pm!  You never know though. :notme:

You mean you might just make it to 10pm to catch up with the news ?!!!!

Like your style.

Haha. Its not usually like this mate. Usually not getting home till 8-9 sometimes 10pm. But as ive not actually got a proper holiday booked this year, ive made it so i can have a few quiet weeks. Still doin the urgent stuff, but having some quality time with motorbikes haha

Quality time is vital.  You never know what is just around the corner and while the bike is sat still it is a waste of money.  Work will wait!

Exactly :D.

Gotta do callouts though, dont want the regulars going elsewhere aha.

When I fitted the lowboy system on my Street R you could feel the weight loss just sitting on the bike. Like everything else Triumph, the exhaust prices have increased significantly since then though - rrp then was £750 for the Street system, I paid £675 for mine (appropriate number, coincidentally). That was still a substantial amount of cash, but I've never regretted buying it - I would never have been happy with the twin can look, and it wasn't a huge amount more than a decent pair of twin cans anyway (and considerably cheaper than some options, like the ridiculously expensive Akrapovic, or even more outrageously priced, and ugly, Yoshis). Not sure I would've stretched to the £1100 asking price of the 1050 Speed system though.

When i had my Street i opted for the Akrapovic twins purely because everyone was running Arrows and i wanted something different.

With the Speed Triple, i think if i had the choice of free undertails or a free lowboy i'd have gone the lowboy just to be different.

Neither are worth £1k+ though :)

Added bonus of decat with the lowboy too i guess.

Oh, and here's my shortened Arrows fitted.

Much better this length. Sound a lot better too.

Yup.

I've never liked the Akrapovic cans for the Street. They're too big, and cost over £300 more than the lowboy full system that looks better, sounds better, weighs less and makes more power.

Looks good.

Saw this on ebay and thought how useful it would be if you need to store your bike in a tight spot or turn it around in a confined area in your garage

I kept meaning to get one of those when I could have got it for cost price from Bike It, but never got round to it. Would be useful for manoeuvring the heavy old Bandit up against the garage wall. I have one of these, which does a similar job, but only works if you have a centre stand:

Posted this before but I use this on my gravel drive and it works well and stands outside in all weather without a problem.
