What did you do to your bike today?

I've been thinking about the Cyclops LED for my bike but the heat of LED's worry me with plastic lens etc. I don't really know anyone who has actual experience of them other than yourself so keep us posted.

Taking your fuel tank off could be worse. You could have my bike, see my post upgrading the air intake.

I did read that, at least everything isn't loctited in so it doesn't vibrate loose, when it goes in for its service I need to ask them to undo the screw that holds the battery cover on as I can't loosen it at all :D

  • Put the wet weather kit on and went and did my Advanced Test.... and passed

  • You're right, I've just undone one and the lip on the pipe extrudes out of the block so it's pressing against that.

  • Finished! That's 2016 done.

Not the best design with way too many screws for an adventure bike. Nothing complicated but does look very daunting, luckily I had YouTube to hold my hand through it all. At least it gave me the chance to get a good covering of ACF50 on the bike whilst it was stripped.

Got a reminder for the road fund licence:angry:

I friend of mine has one of those cyclops things on his Road King, jeez it's bright!

coupled with the auxiliary lamps, with LED conversion, either side, I doubt anyone could miss him.

Just seen this on another forum for cleaning your exhaust headers with nothing more than toilet cleaner and a paint brush.

Someone on the KTM forum is selling the Cyclops LED kit for £60, it's tempting.

I like the way that he says his headers are "a bit of a state" they were better than the rest of the bike! Some how cannot see him using bleach on the rest of the bike.

Did bring the headers up well though.

I love these little tricks. We used to use brown sauce or rust remover to clean carbon deposits off firearms, smooth peanut butter to clean off wax from plastics and it brings grey faded ones back to black and more flexible.

:D:D

Fingers crossed

95.

Still running in and engine still feels a bit tight so won't push it. Still only 300 miles on the clock. First service on Friday, back sprocket with 3 less teeth going on.

Checked tyre pressures for the first time. Front had 5 psi too much ie 35 psi front and back!

Huge amount of road works on HoV roads. Love the A465, 40 and A44. Challenging and some good bike meet places, also a few speed traps in some villages.

There was a motorbike policeman with a tripod and speed gun just outside Abergavenny yesterday (Sat).

Yes lots of work on the HoV.

Yesterday, 160 odd miles down to Loomies and back in the rain.

A big fry up and the company of a few friends made up for the wet stuff and had a good day out.

Had the 12-months/5k miles service done on the Harley today, my wallet is still feeling the pain :o

Reconnected the optimate*

* other battery chargers are available

96 in on direction, 97 (indicated) in the other, have not calibrated the speedo yet so do not how accurate that is and just blipping it up there as still running in.

Order some leathers too as I think the combo of massive one piece wet weather suit on me does not help as being 6'1" and 100 Kgs, I am no Dani Pedrosa it is true, I am twice him it appears!

Went out for a ride on sunday to blow cobwebs off bike,

Nothing, but who would have thought it would be sooo difficult to buy a pair of bloody gloves!

Rang the local Infinity store on Wednesday last week.

"Have you got any Bering Vesuviuo in a size 10?"

"Yes"

"OK, keep them for me and I'll be in on Saturday"

"OK"

Went in on Saturday as arranged

"Oh, sorry it looks like we sold them. We can order some for Monday"

"OK, I'm off Wednesday so will be in then"

"Ok"

I get a call from them on Tuesday to say they are in.

I go all the way there to be told "Oh, sorry, our mistake. We ordered a few sizes but they only sent a 7,8 and 12"

WTF!

Useless fekks!

Off home to order from Amazon.

Job done with delivery confirmed before 25/3

Today I got an email from Amazon saying my order had beeen dispatched.

Odd, because earlier I had a call from the supplier to say they were out of stock and couldn't fill the order till 1/4 so did I want a refund or to wait?

I give up but have decided to wait.

On a positive note, it was decent of the supplier to call and give me the option.

Order the tail tidy, half normal price so hope is OK, looks OK on Amazon.  Leathers will arrive Monday apparently, hopefully the right size, bit of a guess.  99 in one direction, quick up and back whilst in the running in period, first service tomorrow and a recall apparently.
