What did you do to your bike today?

Featured Replies

Totally agree. Riding for me is all about enjoyment. All out speed is only going to get me killed or banned.

I still keep looking out for a 125 twist and go for the wife but I know it will for me really.

  • Put the wet weather kit on and went and did my Advanced Test.... and passed

  • You're right, I've just undone one and the lip on the pipe extrudes out of the block so it's pressing against that.

  • Finished! That's 2016 done.

Pay for new rear pulley (higher geared and I will not get for about eight weeks) for a more relaxed ride.

New Benelli TNT 125 looks like a good deal. Not twist and go but gears are half the fun of any motorised transport. The good thing about a cheap bike is that even at 50% depreciation the loss is still about the same as a loud pipe on a big bike.

Put some shell v power in:thumbup:

Tried that............

135mpg instead of 130. If only I could change the G to a H with petrol

135mpg! I've nearly had that as in 35mpg  whilst giving it some stick

Ducati was the same. I stopped commuting on it as the car was cheaper to run.

Took the Triumph out yesterday, rode up to Krazy Horse Customs in Bury St Edmunds, the Cafe on the premises was banged out with people taking advantage of the sunshine, the good news was the odometer was on 1002 when I got home so hopefully the tedium of running a Triumph in has been completed :)

Took the K1600 out on a Rainy Saturday just to go and check up on my father who's not been well, took the long route via the Welsh borders and back. Had it break traction a couple of times under power in some of the wetter spots near Llangollen, funny but not funny at the same time :) I think I need a new Z8 on the rear again. Makes me chuckle when I see a tyre thread in the car subsections and wear / tyre life, the K16 is lucky to see 4K out of a rear tyre :)

Started fitting custom rearsets to the Enfield. Might need a new arm that goes on the gearbox selector shaft but cannot find a good name for it to search on eBay for a suitable replacement.

Nothing, but who would have thought it would be sooo difficult to buy a pair of bloody gloves!

Rang the local Infinity store on Wednesday last week.

"Have you got any Bering Vesuviuo in a size 10?"

"Yes"

"OK, keep them for me and I'll be in on Saturday"

"OK"

Went in on Saturday as arranged

"Oh, sorry it looks like we sold them. We can order some for Monday"

"OK, I'm off Wednesday so will be in then"

"Ok"

I get a call from them on Tuesday to say they are in.

I go all the way there to be told "Oh, sorry, our mistake. We ordered a few sizes but they only sent a 7,8 and 12"

WTF!

Useless fekks!

Off home to order from Amazon.

Job done with delivery confirmed before 25/3

Today I got an email from Amazon saying my order had beeen dispatched.

Odd, because earlier I had a call from the supplier to say they were out of stock and couldn't fill the order till 1/4 so did I want a refund or to wait?

I give up but have decided to wait.

On a positive note, it was decent of the supplier to call and give me the option.

Finally, my new gloves arrived. :)

Haven't had the chance to try them out, except in the front room, as over the weekend I developed a dose of Bells Palsy :(

Went to bike night at MFN last night. Good turn out. Nice Kawasaki H2 there!

Went on my own but ended up speaking to plenty of folk, asking about the tracer. It was Hardly the most exciting thing there though :D:D

Nice ride back on nearly dead roads too. Happy days.

Sorry to hear that, wasn't that something that Chris "the Stalker" Walker suffered from?

It is.

IIRC, it took him months to recover enough to race again.

Let's hope it doesn't take that long for me.

Fingers crossed you make a full and speedy recovery.

Spent a lot of my second weekend de-grudding the bike now probably one more weekend to go. When I am out the amount of people who think, just because my bike if very shiny that I am a fair weather rider. Until I show them the heated grips and talk to them to then find out that I usually go out a lot more than they do over the winter months. :D

Also got some news when my new specific rear pulley will be manufactured by the end of May, can't wait to fit that for a more relaxing ride.

Weell finished cleaning and putting back together (minus the saddle bags) my bike from the winter muck. Need a short ride to check the belt drive is correctly set up so that on Monday I can have a bit of a ride out and maybe use my new Garmin 345 LM sat nav.

Very pleased with how it looks after the winter clean.

Went out for about 20 miles just to check everything is tightened up correctly and the belt drive is in the middle of the pulley's. So far all is correct. Now to wait for Monday to have an all day ride probably the last before the end of May (holidays etc) and then my new rear pulley should have been manufacture so I can fit it for another day's ride.:D

Me again, sorry. Now my bike is fettled went for a ride today, 184 miles and a chance to play with my new birthday toy, a Garmin 345LM. Quite an enjoyable day it was.

Oil, filter and coolant changed today. :)

New front tyre and front pads fitted to my yamaha ready for a ride out tomorrow.

My dad has been stupid enough to loan my brother his Bandit so it's been like old times the past few days. Went out for a spin Thursday, I forgot how much more fun riding is with company. Also, although he's a knob my brother is quite handy on a bike. Considering he's not been riding for about 18 months, he jumped on the Bandit which is about 25bhp down on my bike, a big old lump and totally new to him but happily thrashed me everywhere. :D

We went to the Ace last night, he run the Bandit dry, luckily it conked out just close enough to roll into a petrol station.

Some things never change :D

i was actually at the Ace Cafe last weekend.  Went looking at a GTR nearby (south kensington?) with a mate. It wasnt as advertised unfortunately so didnt get bought, however, there was a mustang day on at the ace on the way back. All good.

Quite surprised how painlessly easy it is to get to down the m1. Nice.

Oh nice. It's a nice easy run, but incredibly boring now, M1 has cameras all over the gaf, then the North Circular has average speed cameras the whole length from motorway to Ace. If I go the back roads and in further west it's a little better but the A40 now has average cameras on too. Pain in the arse lol.
