  • keep up at the back, go and read the MY16 thread and see how worked up we've all been getting about the new bigger screen and android auto / apple car play     actually life's too short, don't both

  • Well according to this photo from Gromle they're on the driver's sideEDIT: Except Gromle is from Norway, so they're on the passenger side :-s

  • I love the quality job of removing the CD player....[/sarcasm]

  mmmmmm

Still only 1 usb? Looks good with the cream interior.

Looks great, v. envious!

Are you going to wager on transport blocks fitted or removed?

Well, as it was on the ramp and in the air when I got there, I had a shifty look and they don't seem to be in situ lol

what do you mean by new screen, is there a difference? Mine's got CD player so I wonder if your screen is different to mine?

actually life's too short, don't bother, here's the short version: -

1. yes as of week 22 there are new bigger screens

2. the CD player is no more

3. if you order smart link then you get android auto, apple car play and mirror link functionality.

4. If you order smart gate you can look at all sorts of engine data.

5. Skoda UK caused confusion by claiming the UK (unlike every other country) would not be getting the new head units but would stick with the older smaller, lower res screens. Lots of people got upset.

Glad to see everyone's fears were groundless, looks great, and I'm keen to get my hands on my own one now. Hopefully just a few weeks to wait.

apparently in behind that lot is the head unit, the thing in the middle of the dashboard is just a screen these days. They could have done it a bit more neatly though

Got to laugh at the "Its a CD player but not a CD Player" piece of plastic ;)

Bigger screen isn't that obvious, but definitely nice to have.

Thanks for the photos! Good to see the larger screen more clearly.

The rest of the car looks great too.

The increased res on the screen will make the biggest difference but that extra 0.7" is also important, nice color combination well wear, enjoy

that extra 0.7" is also important,

size really does matter then?

is that actually a 6.5" screen pictured then? I'll measure mine tonight lol.

Lol, it would tickle me that if you took that piece of plastic out and the CD was still there, just needed coding in lol :-0

I reckon I could get that going with VCDS :-)

just realised yours is a 150 SEL Diesel in Race Blue

Mine's a 150 SEL TSI in race blue

Very nice, makes my Dec 2013 one seem rather outdated now.

@Warkman, did you manage to find out anything from your dealer about the DVLA registration issue I mentioned on the other day?

@e301988325i your car was built on 18th May right? That's week 21... you *just* missed MY16 hence wouldn't expect you to have a 6.5in screen and no CD :-(

ouch, that's rough  (unless you like playing CDs)

Sorry... better we said it now rather than letting him get all worked up that his MY16 got MIB1

you have to be cruel to be kind. I realised this was all getting out of hand when I woke up this morning having dreamed that my car had turned up with an MIB1 and no CD and it was a Band D for VED   :peek:

You were dreaming of Frankentavia!

Did it also have the dreaded boomy cabin? Sooo necessary to bring that old topic back to life!! ;-)

Didn't seem to be an issue with mine, I did say to him I wasn't bothered what the reg plate number was though :-)
