If you can afford it go for it I'm fed up reading how your golf keeps packing in. :)

I'm 32 with full no claims in a moderate crime area and it costs me

Other way round im afraid.. same engine + gearbox' date=' but octy has edge on handling and top speed due to slightly longer wheelbase, better weight distribution and better aerodynamics..

and remind me again why you sold the furby?[/quote']

Maybe not in this case ;)

I sold the Furby because i was moving out and didnt want the big HP payment. That didnt work out in the end, and I kind of feel in the mood for silly cars again :P

You want a silly car buy a MCSW. That's a very silly car.

I dont have

As already said Paul, if you trust the cars history, and its in good order, then 7k seems like a decent price.

Yeah, I'd go for it was well, sounds a v good price. Mind you, you could get a decent ocy vRS for that as well.

How about another Furby ?

i like the leon, prefer the cupra r but we cant be too picky.

how about an octy vRS for that money?

Don't think a Furby vRS could be had for

If you're in the mood for silly cars, you can do sillier for 7k ;)

OK... regarding Octy vRS's, its probably too big for my needs really. I do like them, but the Leon is a little smaller and a little lighter, so probably handles slightly better, and I do like the Leon quite a bit.

Dont know what colour it is yet, I've emailed the guy and am awaiting his response.

Chris, I know I can do sillier for that money, but in the end, I think I am looking for a comfortable car as well for my driving around town, and this Leon is supposed to have the leather option too, so I've heard.

The history of the car is said to be very good according to one of his mates, he's the kind who is apparently frightened of doing more than 80 mph, and has apparently never really drove it fast. Not quite sure why he got such a powerful car in the first place. Anyway, its only done about 14k miles, and its definitely been looked after. If I can get it for that price, it will be a good deal.

Fuel economy does not worry me - I can expect similar economy to what I get now with the Golf GTI. Insurance will probably be significantly more, but I can still afford it.

PS. As good as the Furby vRS is, I wouldnt have another. Why? Well 2 reasons. Firstly, DERV is not really my cup of tea, truth be told... but the main reason really, is that life is just too short to have the same car twice.

Paul, the 'Car' mag has a side by side rundown on buying Leon and Octavia.Gits reckon they are 177 bhp

The insurance will be a stinger.Have some fun in an MX5,save yourself

what will you do with your golf? ;)

  • Author

I wouldnt mind an MX5, but theres one in my street and its clearly had the roof slashed. And considering my street is nice, and i park my car in some very not nice places at times (i have to use my car for work, and anyone who knows newcastle will tell you how bad places like walker, scotswood and cowgate can be), so for that i fear its not practical.

Get an MX5 with a hard top :D

will u be selling your golf? :)
