Back to Skoda...MY16 L&K?

Featured Replies

Hi All!

Back to this forum after a few years away from the Skoda brand, but taken the plunge again and bought the MK3 Octavia L&K.

My question is this (and I know there's probably no definitive answer)...My car on order is in stock, and sitting at port in the UK - will this likely be the MY16 model?

There are advantages and disadvantages to either...MY16 loses the nice darker wheels in place of plain silver ones, loses the CD function, but gains the slightly nice Amunsden Nav system.

Best guesses on a postcard please.... :D

Thanks.

Any opinions?

I think week 22 was the build change...last week in May.

So 5 weeks have passed since.

If we assume it's been in the UK 1 to 2 weeks. Then it sat 1 to 2 weeks across the pond....

Things are very close.

k the dealer to find out its build date

Thanks guys - the dealer confirmed it's MY15, which is fine for me - don't lose out on the CD player, and the wheels on the MY15 L&K still have a darker finish to them, whereas MY16 are just silver.

Ordered mine in black, so would prefer the darker wheels :)

But you are missing out on Smartlink and Smartgate aren't you?

Am I? I don't even know what they do (sorry for my ignorance!)  :D

And the smaller, less quality screen

I thought the L&K came with the Columbus as standard? so changes to the Amunsden don't affect this trim level.

According to the skoda UK configurator Columbus us a £1,000 add on, so only Amundsen as standard?

If it was my owe money as opposed to a company car I would go for a MY16 car or push for a big discount on a MY15 vehicle. I know it is about personal preferences but I think the benefits of a MY16 outweigh that of a MY15 especially when it comes to private resale.

When you opt for a high spec L&K I think you need as many toys as possible to distinguish yourself from the common Elegance gang :D

Haha...I think it comes pretty well kitted out as standard! Plus, I've only contract hired it as it's going to be used as my work car, so wanted to keep cost down. MY15 keeps the CD player, and I still have quite a few as I'm too lazy to put everything on my computer and iPhone  :D

Either way, I'm sure I've got myself a great car - loved my FL vRS, and this is a little bit different!
