Wayne s NEW Car: MG ZT (V6)

Featured Replies

It was missing 1 or 2 things but had everything I wanted and for the money I paid I was happy. Cost me 500 to get it road worthy though then on the way to fill up to head for pride of Longbridge it snapped a spring, so it lay off the road and I sold it.

Awww - lol

Mine was just missing on jacking pad...for now ....

This needed 5 tyres as the full size spare was as bald as the rest, thermostat, Coolant changed and 2 rear drop links. When I sold it it needed a spring and disks and pads at the front. Also had a hell of a water leak lol

Yikes!

Mine s had major work already done before I bought :)

3 cambelts + Water pump + coolant.

The dreaded vis motors (inside manifold)

I did...

3 speed Radiator fan upgraded to the more reliable 2 speed one.

Plenum drains cleaned (a common water leak area)

Rear lights sealed (another common leak).

I think only the following common faults not struck yet:

1. Orange clip (fuel filter)

2. Thermostat housing leak

3. Inlet manifold housing

So , touch wood my MG will be trouble and cost free for quite a while :)

Somehow?

I doubt you'll see higher MPG figures from LPG as it has different burn. It's just significantly cheaper than petrol so may equal it out

Think its about 10-20% less efficient than petrol, with LPG less than 1/2 price of petrol should be cheaper then (even with £70 annual LPG service added on top) -

that is considering buying the car with LPG already installed :)

Brand?

Service every year?

2003

Professionally installed

Can't remember off the top of my head but decent stuff iirc

Couldn't tell as no service history,

I don't think the installation was up to much however for quite a few reasons

Interesting

I didn't know they can be that badly corroded - unless very old or factory installed (not well tested)...

My experience they not that bad.

Heard factory installed ones for Vauxhall had issues..

Mine were always good :)

Subaru 242bhp BRC system

Golf V5 150bhp Romano system

Ford Focus forgotten the LPG - but that shot the engine when I bought it so got full refund :)
