Seeing as the MY16 cars have now hit the streets, some of you are trying out some of the more popular VCDS tweaks such as enabling both rear fogs, HBA etc.

 

A couple of words of advice if you are:

• MIB2 Infotainment units require VCDS 15.7.3 or higher otherwise you will have issues with changing values of the adaptation channels
• Use the latest beta of VCDS so it has the most up to date label files
• Save an autoscan and keep the log file open before you make any changes
• The numbers in brackets on the adaptation channels are not important, it is the text description that you are looking for
• The latest beta of VCDS has a tick box for a soft controller reset when changing adaptation channels - this is a feature I asked Ross Tech to add for a reason, it is needed on MQB platform cars, so use it!

I haven't had the chance to get my hands on a MY16 car yet (guinea pigs are welcome), if you are having issues with anything PM me BUT if you want me to be able to help I would expect the absolute minimum of:

• Autoscan log that has been kept open to capture every change
• Full adaptation map of all relevant controllers (usually 09, sometimes 5F as well)

If there are no descriptions in the ‘Coding’ long code then Admaps would also be useful... Ross-Tech can then include further information in new software releases.
