Ste's Wednesday Wax - Definitive OCD

Featured Replies

Hi folks,

Well - getting into the routine of an enjoyable mid-week wash n' wax at our house - so thought to share.

SWMBO's Seat Exeo has been brought up to spec recently and just awaits new tyres and alloy refurb.

Come the weekend - I hardly get to see her car as she is chauffeuring the kids here there and everywhere!

....so mid-week detailing seems to work for now!!!

Air temp was about 17degC; panel temp about 20 or so - but cooled down after the foam/wash at 6pm

A typical foam, rinse and wash routine as follows:-

- Ultimate Finish Snow foam sample

- Wheels with Defintive Decon 88

- Rinse

- Wash with Dooka pad and DC Car care shampoo from the last Waxpack

- Rinse

- Spray with diluted Adam's quick detailer

- Dry with Big Yellow towel

- Door shuts, exhausts and alloys, wipedown with Sonax BSD.

- Tyres with Definitive Wax Tyre Dressing

- Waxed with Definitive OCD Edition

- Topped with Definitive QD Pro.

So then working through the wax collection - tried a wax which had been sat in the collection for a year - totally unused! :giggle:

A limited OCD edition wax - pot 5 of 15 from Definitive Wax. This is a hard wax, seemed to hardly use any on the whole car in fact.

Recommended to be applied 1 or two panels at a time and a relatively short cure time expected.

Buffed off with extreme ease, it has to be said and a nice slick finish and deep gloss on the paint. :sun:

Anyway - the pictures below..... a little dark/grainy I'm afraid as it was low light by the time I finished around9pm;

but you get the idea....  thanks for looking

What's the Definitive Tyre Dressing like?

Hi Neil - thanks for the positive comments as always

Tell you what - I'm very impressed with the new line from Definitive Wax..... shampoo, tyre dressing and Decon88.

Initially - I thought it was a bit of a gimmick to bolster the accessory side of things...

BUT

It really feels like Jason and his team have tested out a few formulas to come up with some really good stuff.

The tyre dressing is very nice to use, gel-like consistency.... and no sling observed on my first 2 or 3 cars.

New rubber on the .:R36 just this week - so nice to test this dressing out on a new set and I wasn't disappointed at all.

Only minor gripe was the lack of applicator nozzle on this initial batch of bottles; but Jason said he would post out the new nozzle when they are in stock.

Other testers have said the durability on the tyre dressing is up there with the best - so I will monitor this going forward....

Thanks for the info buddy. Keeps us posted buddy. Had my foot surgery on Wednesday, so gearing myself up for a mammoth detailing session on the Superb once its DMF is sorted!!

@blueR36 (Alan) - I put this in with Sirius as an alternative.... much harder wax and easy to put thin layers on.....

Great results - as you can see!

Anyway - just wanted to post up how impressed I was with Definitive OCD.

Back from holiday and after almost 3 weeks unwashed..... I foamed and rinsed the Seat Exeo.

All I can say is.... it left a perfect ring of dust, pollen, and all other crap on the driveway round the circumference of the car.

Not much managed to stick to the car at all - and thankfully no bird crap was on there either! ;)

The wash routine was a breeze and car looking like new once again.... new tyres to get fitted this week or next all being well.
