Kept up with a WRX

Featured Replies

This is' date=' or was, a forum about cars. However, it seems to be getting taken over with threads about the love life of our junior members, what everyone had for tea, etc, etc.

I don't mind people posting about their love life, diet, etc, etc. I *do* mind when some people come down like a ton of bricks when someone posts, basically, "hey, I love my car. It really surprised me today"

:mad::mad:[/quote']

I agree - i enjoy reading about cars, and people's accounts of various on road drama's etc.... But it was banned..............I was simply drawing attention to the fact that threads of this type had been silenced, but this thread which looks similar to previous threads that were frowned upon has happily stayed put ????

Tut, tut indeed Andy...as I didn't even post what was quoted....Col did in his "sticky" post.

May be Col should reply to this?

Tis true - sorry bout that adrian, you mods all look alike !! ;)

I think it is great and solves all the problems.

If you can merrily sit alongside or just behind a redfaced Evo driver, post it

I was obliterated by a mark IV golf the other day. :o just shot past me and couldn't make anything on him. :o swine :D

I agree with both parties in this instance..... "one rule for one"..... and i too am fed up with some irrelevant threads.... BUT, this thread was Titled, Kept up with a WRX, so its obvious what it was about!

I suggest, if people get upset with reading these types of threads, just simply ignore them! As i said above i too am fed up with some irrelevant threads, if its titled "i had cheese on toast" - then i don

Get in a Furby, up as steep hill, with a caravan on each - you'd have had him!

Only cos the Fabia can't legally tow a caravan :P:rofl:

if i step on anyone's toes - then im sorry! But in the past year and a half - things have changed on here...

these things happen i'm afraid and theres not a lot the mods can do either, from experience.

i used to co run the Renault Sports Club and admin the forums on there, to be honest i dont use those forums at all now as i got fed up of the sl4gging off the admins got when trying to kerb threads that really shouldnt have been posted.

the sense of community suffered on the forum and the users got pretty negative towards the club.

i agree that within reason a forum user should be able to post what they like, its then up to the readers if they want to view the topic or not.

if a topic reads "last night i whooped an evo" and you dont want to read how the creator of the post left a 65 year old evo driver standing from the lights in a cloud of tyre smoke while he engaged first and let the hand brake off while thinking about getting home for his bovril then you dont have to read it unless you are generally interested in doing so.

whether you choose to reply to said topic with "get a life he wasnt even trying" or "well done, show that coffin dodger what for" is again entirely up to you.

Forums do need rules but they arent always met with willing...

Cheeky young whippersnapper  That's your pocket money stopped for this month :P :P

You'll never manage to save enough up for my wheels at this rate

What did I start.

Wheres that can of worm's emoticon when you need it.

IIRC a lot of us posted on these threads a couple of years ago, there was a massive one going for ages titled "My Skoda Scalped A ....". So now the longer-standing members of the community are bored reading them, which is understandable. Like a lot of people said though, if you find this kind of post annoying, don't read them !

As for other types of posts that irritate, well things have changed round here, we've a lot more members for a start, so that's potentially lots more annoying threads and lots more people to be annoyed by them !

So less of this ! :cussing: and more of this :) or else :bullwhip:

whip crackaway, whip crackaway, WHIP crackaway!!!!!

i wouldnt have called you a loony mark!.....

Sorry, dont believe a remapped Octy is as fast as a WRX. Here is why:

http://www.philgooch.com/video/race1.avi

Thats a standard WRX with no PPP and only 2000 miles on the clock. The Octavia is a Jabba remapped car.

Bengie is his next challenger, the results will be here on Friday afternoon ;)

Well, just for reference, i have kept up with/passed at speed many many subaru's of various badge variety. Cant see what the fuss is about. Off the line, no chance. Up and running, every chance.
