9000 miles seems a low mileage for brake replacement. My Fabia had 70,000 before needing changing.

It would seem a proper 'wheels off' inspection would be required.

Fair point above about dealers erring on the side of caution, 'they serviced it xxxx thousand miles ago but now the brakes have gone' is what they're concerned about.

Please don't tar all dealers with the same brush, some are excellent - mine advised on a slow puncture saving me the time and trouble of a roadside failure. They are not all crooks, be fair and reasonable with most and you'll be looked after.
