Thanks for the Google findings! Bit too dark for that color, for my taste at least. Great looking wheel.

Lots of those new(ish) Superb brochure pictures seem to be taken/made with Acamar wheels. Not quite sure about the color of the car, for example on these photos. Of course reality of "the look" can be quite different from these shots.

A few from ours, after a nice cleaning and with its winter wheels on.

I just need to sort out some modifications etc. but I think that will be for after the “winter”.

Hi,

Apologies if you've already seen these pictures. Ours is magnetic brown but here's a picture of the wheels in a different light.

Hi @Kami_ Nice blue! Are those are your easy to clean winter wheels?

I have adopted a similar 5-spoke design for winter so that I can clean the inside of the wheel rims and the backs of the spokes. My summer wheels (19" Sirius) are harder to clean thoroughly. As a result, I have polished both Winter and Summer wheels with Soft99 Fusso Coat special polish which should now repel water and dirt better.

You have an ambitious upgrade plan - you have my respect. My own skills are not so developed that I would be  confident with the same plan!

I have fitted the Superskoda LED trunk lights and can recommend them. Tip: follow the fitting instructions exactly.

I also have a front and a rear dashcam but am having problems to fix the rear one currently (another thread). I hope to fix it this weekend.

I agree with your comment about ACC - it really is a game changer: I feel so much fresher after a long journey than I ever did before.

And lastly, my congratulations on your delightful English (I'm assuming it's not your mother tongue).

I have lived for 41 of my 62 years in non-English-speaking countries and know what a struggle it can be to write in another language. You have mastered this very nicely!

Best regards,

Yeah, so far I didn't even need to use the wheel brush yet. Just snow foam and pressure washer did the trick.

I had the detailer apply ceramic coating to the wheels as well, not sure how much it actually helps though. I also need to decide / figure out what to apply to summer alloys. Is Soft99 Fusso Coat easy to apply?

Yeah, I would have actually ordered all of that stuff on a new car, but I was a bit impatient and didn't want to wait 3 months and I got a really good deal on a new car in stock so I decided to go with that, since it had most of the other equipment I wanted.

The OEM equipment is not so cheap (220-300 EUR for the rear view camera, ~300 for the heated steering wheel), but for me it's worth it.

From the photo it looks like you have an estate, right? From the videos it seems you need to be careful with the light orientation in estate, but they didn't mention anything about that in the limo / sedan video.

I have fixed the rear one directly to the windscreen, just under the rear brake light using the two sided tape (I used my own tape, because the one which was included wasn't strong enough - I used some strong 3M tape which is also used to fix mirrors to the walls in bathrooms and is moisture resistant).  I didn't want to install it on the outside and I tested various positions and this seemed to have been the best one on the inside.

As far as the cables go - first I did the "typical" install - behind the trim in front of the windscreen, over the A column, outside under the rubber seal, inside over B column, back over C column. After that, I did some more studying of the airbag diagrams and photos and I decided that was a bad idea.

I didn't want anything to hamper airbag deployment so I decided to go with a different route - instead of going above, I decided to route the cable down at the bottom on the passenger side since it won't block anything there. I was also lucky, because this second route needs a lot more cable and the included cable was long enough, just barely.

Another option would be to route it inside the trims, above the airbag with other cables, but I didn't want to remove the trims.

Is Soft99 Fusso Coat easy to apply?

Hi @Kami_ Yes, Soft99 is easy to apply - and what you read everywhere is "less is more".

The reason is because if you put it on too thick, it dries to a firm consistency and is more difficult to remove. I kept finding smears of the Fusso Coat that I had put on too thickly.

Here is what Soft99 says about it (emphasis is mine):

"Fluorine polymer, which has a sufficient anti-fouling ability effectively protects the car surface from rain, dirt and other unwanted residue. Its thick hard coating repels water strongly, as water smoothly runs down and off the car surface. The effects will last up to 12 months and keep the car in a good condition for a long period of time. Furthermore the hard paste wax can create clear gloss on the car body."

So far I am impressed with Fusso Coat even though I have used it only on the wheels until now.

I have read that the gloss is less than waxes that focus on glossiness. The main advantage I see is that since the water/dirt repellence effect is strong, I can use non-contact cleaning to keep the paint swirl-free. My car is now 5 months old. At the beginning I had it treated by SwissVax headquarters for new car protection. And since then I have ONLY cleaned it using non-contact methods with good results. This is thanks to SwissVax.

(My cleaning regime is Pre-wash "wet", pre-wash jet for removal of surface debris, shampoo soak, wash jet, rinse, warm wax, clarified water "finish" rinse.
This is available in my favourite public high-pressure car wash boxes.

I am lucky enough to commute to work using public transport and save the Superb for journeys I want to drive.

All the best, Rob

I am pretty sure this is Quarts Gray as I have on mine. It tends to look quite different from different angels and lighting!

Clip from the video the dealer has just sent me of my new Superb Combi. I am still resisting and waiting until March for it even though it turned up early. This was it straight off the transporter...

Yeah, I have the same issue with chrome trims on my car. I think is because of salt, since this winter I saw they look really bad.

I am thinking to wrap them, instead of painting.

Window trims come off quite easily. Grille  ones... i don't know.

Testing out a 280PS Sportline wagon, love it. Can't exactly afford to replace the K though...

Looking forward to collecting mine in March.  So far I've only test driven the 280 in an L&K and I didn't have time to really give it the beans. I have driven a 190 dieseasel and a 220 petrol Sportline so I do have some idea of what the final combo will be like:-) Your pics have made me think I should have gone with darker colour. Too late now I guess and the white is pretty nice too...
