octavia juddering

Featured Replies

just bought a 2003 octy 1.9tdi and was told that the fuel filter will need changing.

before i changed the filter the car was fine pulling through the gears without any problem but since i replaced the filter it judders through the gears if i put my foot down and get up to and above 2000 revs b4 changing gears and stay above 2000 revs its fine.I also filled it up with the expensive diesel at aroiund the same time would that have anything to do with it ???

Ive cleaned the erg as it was full of soot and stuff but still no change and checked the injecters and they were fine too.th

TIA

It could be air in the system, because there's no manual primer pump, and I'd not entirely trust the claimed self-bleeding of the injectors.

Also, I don't know what you mean by "expensive DERV", but brand name fuels (at least in UK) have detergent packs that cheap ones don't, so you could have some crud working its way through the system.

Or you could have some other problem which probably needs VCDS to diagnose, never mind cure.

hi thanks for the advice ill try the priming see what happens,i thought maybe the deisel i put in may be too rich.

the coil light has come on the dashboard, maybe changing them could cure it ?

The "coil light"? There's no such thing on a diesel. About the closest I can come is that the glow plug light has a picture of a coil of wire on it.

In which case, this is going to sound totally off the wall, but check that your brake lights work (if none of them do, you need a new, OEM, pedal switch). If they do, you need fault code diagnosis.
