Ste's Sunday Shine - KKD Seduction Wax

Featured Replies

Hi All,

Back from our summer holiday and our 2 cars needed detailing - plus a pile of new samples to have a play with.

So thought to share a brief write-up on a couple of new waxes and another few bits and pieces.

Seat Exeo done Saturday (separate thread), now onto the Second one... the .:R36.

A typical foam, rinse and wash routine, but to elaborate on detailed products used:-

- Foamed with AD foam lance using Bilt Hamber Snow foam

- Wheels with Definitive Decon 88 and WoWo wheel mitt

- Rinse

- Wash with Adam's wash pad and Definitive Shampoo

- Rinse

- Foamed with diluted AD Top Gloss Curious foam lance mix (rinse/drying aid)

- Rinse

- Dry with Big Yellow towel and MetroVac blower

- Door shuts, exhausts and alloys, wipedown with Definitive QD Pro.

- Tyres with Definitive Tyre Dressing

- Waxed with KKD Seduction (30ml sample)

- Wax applied with Auto-Finesse Handi-puck+80mm black wax pad; buffed with CarPro 500gsm Grey BOA

This wax was launched earlier in 2015 from Krystal Kleen Details....

Their first wax and if I'm honest - I was shocked at the circa £80 price point for 200ml.

Thankfully this sample pot arrived and I was eager to try it out - that's for sure.

50ml sample pots are available too.  Durability is approx. 3-4months based on the KKD info.

As stated many times on the KKD Thread - I'm yet to be disappointed by any KKD products released from Marc Linekar.

This chap runs a detailing business, and over the years has developed an immense knowledge of the chemicals and what is required.

This is a firm wax, seemed to hardly use any on the whole car in fact. The 30ml sample pot will last a while; smells amazing too.

I applied the wax using another recent product under test - the Auto Finesse Handi-puck with 3" wax pad fitted.

Really impressed with this - made application very easy and a nice thin layer of wax put down on the paint.

Panel temp was quite cool, as this was an evening detail and not the sunniest of days.

Recommended to be applied 1 or two panels at a time with a relatively short cure time expected.

Buffed off with extreme ease it has to be said and left a lovely deep gloss and very slick feel to the paint. :sun:

The slickness, coupled with the very obvious jump in gloss levels was really impressive - for minimal effort.

Anyway - the pictures below..... they are a bit grainy - as the garage lights indicate - it was getting dark as I tidied up;

but you get the idea....  thanks for looking

To add to these mini-review's I thought I would start working on a scoring system - which may prove useful.

I will try and improve it as we go along - but this is a start.... the scoring isn't there to prove contentious;

it is simply my opinion on the product, ease of use, results, pricing, etc. Constructive comments welcome :)

Thanks for the positive comments Neil.

Alan's pics show the product off better for sure. Alan's .:R36 is looking tip-top and the paint feels as slick as it looks BTW!

My evening details are not proving successful for taking pictures - as it is low light by the time I finish. :|

BTW Alan - I had a message from Marc at KKD acknowledging the pics of your car and great feedback on the wax!

Managed to give the .:R36 a quick foam and rinse last night to remove the dust from the last 2 weeks.

Very impressed with how KKD Seduction is performing.....

Cheers Neil - just got the sample pots back from Alan.

I'll put it aside for the next exchange/swap of samples buddy.

Awesome. Thanks buddy. Appreciate it

Looking forward to trying it. The reviews give a great insight it to it's characteristics!

  • 2 weeks later...

Hey Ste,

Just wondering if you had seen any GB of the Seduction pots at all yet?

Remember you saying you were hanging around for one?

Nothing has been mentioned Karl.

Marc Linekar was away for 2 weeks on his summer vacation as well.

I'll be patient and pester him soon!  ;)

Oh aye I forgot about that!

Haha nice one!
