How does the battery charge indicator work?

Featured Replies

Just tried it in mine (no KESSY).

Key in, ignition off, door closed...

Sorry, it isn't much help.

I haven't been able to figure out how to get it to work so I assumed I don't have it but I tried your clip and it worked :)

That's probably down to whether you have a colour Maxidot or not. My 11 month old 4000 mile MY16 Octavia says --% with a white battery.

Hi Rodge, I guess that must be it. I don't recall what model the loaner was, but probably something basic. Open question to all - Does anyone out there have a Mk 3 Octavia that HAS an operational battery status (SOC) meter?  If you do, can you please state whether or not your car is fitted with KESSY?

I am still waiting to hear from either Skoda CZ. or Skoda UK although the stop/start issue now, finally, appears to have been cured by replacing the (faulty) battery.

Would you believe that my dealer threatened to report my loan car as stolen! as I stated my reluctance to pick up my vehicle without an assurance that the faults had now been corrected. This dealer is now rather blighted in my mind, time to look for someone providing a better service to their clients methinks.

Warrior193.

My first O3 had a working SOC indicator and it wasn't KESSY.

My second one is KESSY and also has SOC.

Hi Andyvee, thanks, very interesting to hear that - my dealer is claiming that this feature IS NOT available on non-Kessy cars. What MY was your first car?

Warrior193.

That's rubbish, mine is normal key. 64 plate.

Hi Mallett, is your car fitted with Kessy, what MY do you have?

Model year? No idea. How do you tell?

MY16 Scout has KESSY - no key. After 4,000kms SOC shows --%.

VRS Tdi no Kessy mine displayed 70% this morning.

89%

Domino, motherf##ker.

Surely the question should be "Does the Charge Indicator work?"  Mine either shows 80% or 0%, and on 0% it starts fines.

Awesome. So, it serves no value.

Spot on.

Agreed

MY13 - one of the very first off of the production line.

Hi Mallet, I may be wrong but I think the new model year starts around September / October of the previous year - for example, my 65 plate 1.4 TSI was delivered at the end of October 2015 (it was on the docks in Germany in early Oct)

I am still waiting for ANY response from either Skoda Cz or UK.

Sorry Malett, I forgot to say my 65 plate 1.4 TSI (non-KESSY) is MY16.

Mine is a April 2014 non kessy.

It's cars built from week 22 onwards, which is at the end of May.

Hi Rodge, thanks for clarifying that.
