Ste's Sunday Shine - BMD Nemesis / Definitive Drying Towel Review

Just popped on here to reply to a PM and thought I would have a quick look in here as it's been some time.....

samuir1974 - When are you going to stop messing with waxes and get involved in ceramic sealants ;) Just messing ;)

Eh up Simon - nice of you to pop in and say hello.  :sun:

How is life treating you?

Oh i know - as per our last conversation.... i'm still not into sealants on my personal car.

But, i have been playing with a couple of ceramic sealants that mates want applying on new cars.

Shaun has put me onto the Siramik coating and Alex at Altec is giving us a demo on MaxProtect UNC-R in November.

I know you are a big Gtechniq fan though - and from the recent pics of your cars - it performs very well.

  • Thanks Samuir I have now ordered a 200ml pot of Nemesis at £60 delivered which is a nice £30 saving from ordering Sirius dark edition. Looking forward to it!

  • Good grief Ste, it has been a while since I was on here, but I naively assumed you must have slowed down the wax consumption by now.......................

Chatting with Stevie Black of BMD earlier today - it's the 5 year anniversary for the BMD venture this week.

I've only been a user/fan for the last 2 years - but very impressed with BMW waxes overall.

Great to be part of the BMD user group and have some input into the Nemesis release this year

Based on some of your reviews ive Just been chatting to Stevie at BMD about choices of a wooden custom pot.

Very tempted!

Nice one Karl. I do rate the BMD products very highlight, plus Stevie is very helpful and replies on Facebook to any PM's etc.

I must admit - the Wooden pots are nice, but not for me. Whereas the Aluminium Pistons pots - I think are simply gorgeous.

I have a few standard pots in the collection..... but at the moment Nemesis has been my BMD favourite for 2015

I honestly didn't know you were interested in BMD.... so feel free to test any you wish - never a problem buddy.

Morpheus, Taurus, Sirius (Dark), Nemesis, Genesis, Origins, Miura.... all very good blends.

He seems a very nice chap after the conversation I had with him.

Those aluminium pistons are stunning I must admit. Ever since we got the limited run from AP I've been interested in the wooden pots from BMD.

Appreciate that buddy, will take you up on that next time I'm round.

I like the idea of a full custom blend though.. scents, colours etc.!

If you like the BMD wooden pots then have a chat with Wayne F or Shaun W;

both had very healthy BMD collections as I recall.

Should you really like the custom blend options and getting involved - both BMD and Definitive are recommended.

In fact, there was an announcement today from Jason at Definitive about a possible new scheme/program for 2016....

I'll see if I can find it and tag you for info - it might be right up your street Karl.

Their collections are something else! Seen those on the bmd Fb page!

Thanks for the tag on the DW page too! Be glad to have some input on a new wax!

No problem at all - its one to watch anyway - might come to something in 2016.

On face value, I might sign-up for that and put Wax Pack on the back burner for example.

I'll certainly be signing up for that! :)

Hello Stranger...  :hi:

Nice to see you still pop in Mark and see what's going on...

How's life? Married life too.... i trust the family are all well

The wax diet is working well for me.... no sign of it slowing down at all!  :giggle:

Really enjoying my detailing and going from strength to strength buddy.

All the best,

Ste.

I have only popped online for a couple of glances in the last 6 months really.  I have a lot of catch up reading to do.

Still married..........just and the family is growing larger again sometime over the festive period depending on when number 2 arrives.  All of this year's goings on has meant the car has been relegated to family taxi, occasional bin wagon and nothing more than an uncared for heap.  I plan to give it a pre-Christmas spruce but am basically counting down the days to chopping it in for something I can care about again.

Glad to hear all is well mate.

Congratulations on the pending arrival - i hope all goes well

We always said we should do a detailing day at somepoint;

so if you need a hand sprucing the taxi up before sale - just shout, always HTH.  ;)

Just an update on the Definitive Wax drying towels that were mention in this review.

3 months on; still on the original twinpack i purchased.

They did pick up some colour in the wash once or twice - so not as white as they should be.

BUT that aside - still uber soft and drying very well on both our cars. Very pleased with them.

I will say - on a few of the detailing days when i've had mates over for a double detail;

i think everyone has picked them up, used them... then ordered a pack.

Not sure if the DW sale is still running - but i got 25% off a replacement pack sorted ASAP!

I managed to grab the two pack with a few other bits! My wooly mammoth now does my wheels and door shuts.

The DW towels are second to none. Washed them 3 times and still like new. Also appreciate them still be crystal white after drying knowing full well you have washed the car properly!

Great towel. Highly recommended. Great price!

Loving the pot! Very heavy & feels great being glass. Smells lovely & matches the Rallye green paintwork!

Looking forward to putting a coat on when the SNOW! BLOODY SNOW! Stops haha!

No worries Karl - enjoy testing it out and welcome to BMD!

We have a few waxes to test before the big detail on the vRS for your wedding day :)

We certainly do! It has too look it's best! The missus approves of the smell of the wax, first thing she looked at when she arrived home! Haha
