Info Screen?

Featured Replies

i was under the impression that the screen in between the rev counter and speedo in my vrs octavia was suposed to 'do stuff'? ie show menus etc? can someone tell me how this works or if its not suposed to etc? many thanks

I'm pretty sure that it doesn't, it just shows lights like screen wash refil or low fuel. The clock shows imformation fromthe trip computer

The audi TT uses the same basic dashboard layout with the centre section used for the trip computer etc.

AFAIK , all Skodas use the clock display instaed.

Audi and high line VW's used the centre displsy on the dash. SEAT and Skoda however dont...as yet anyhow.

Wrong!!

You need an L&K to find out what the display looks like!!

John.

the L&K has more gadgets than a light aircraft !!

it told me it was -5 this morning and keeps on telling me to put the seatbelt on

Worse than the misses :D:D:D

If ever there was a case of 'if you've got it, flaunt it', this is it! Now could we please have some due modesty from the L&K cadre on Briskoda?

IIRC the multi-function display works on Elegance and L&K trim levels.

Mine shows (from the top) a warning area (see below) , then a horizontal bar, followed by trip computer data, external temperature (with a "snowflake" below 4 degrees), and "PRND321"

The warning area shows e.g. a petrol pump icon, with the request "PLEASE REFUEL", or (recently)

"STOP" followed by "CHECK COOLANT", followed by "SERVICE MANUAL" - until I can get the coolant sensor checked...

Oh OK Mike,

Sorry if I excluded Elegance from this feature - it's just that it's always good to point out something that an L&K has, that vRS doesn't! - after all I can't talk about my N75 can I! (well at least, I don't think I can).

Modest, moi?? Surely not. Just basking in the warmth of my heated leather seats illuminated by my Xenon lights. :D :D :D

While watching TV too, I wouldn't mind betting. But normal people watch TV in the lounge on the settee rather than sit in their cars in the garage. You can buy leather seats for use in the house too, Howard, and they don't need to be heated indoors. rolleyes.gif

Funnily enough I was actually in front of the computer at the time... :p Just thinking of tomorrow morning.......... at 5.30 am :(

(Six minutes, you're getting quick on the draw Denis! )

Either you've got a big mirror, or you've unbolted the seats!

Or you've got a seriously bent car....

Actually, the center info display on the L&K is identical to the Audi A4 and TT.

I always liked the "please refuel" message. There's something plaintive about the "please".....

Phil:D

KLB - the auto might have it, but the manual does not.

I have lots of pretty lights, including the "washer bottle low" one that the 3 litre bottle guys n girls don't have, but no "multi function display"....

Yeah, but the loud, intrusive "BEEP!" rather spoils it. Why can't it just whimper a bit?

Is it a "beep" or is it a "bong" like my Furby makes when it drops below 4c?

It's a beep - or rather, a

BEEP!!!

I've likened it to a heart monitor (like the noise when someone dies, in films) because it pretty much stops mine each time it goes off

PS maybe Howard's fitted Xenon interior lights as well - that might explain the basking ...

Definitely a heart monitor type "Beeeeeep". Used to drive me nuts.....

Persuades you to refuel, though!

Phil

If you get an Octavia with sat-nav fitted (I've seen an RS) the centre display is fully 'digitised' and amongst other things displays nice big arrows to let you know what direction you are supposed to be going in.

You don't get a loud beep in the SWB Superb ( passat to you and me ) you get a cultured sort of soft 'bing' - similar to the one on the flight deck of an A320 Airbus I should imagine :D

Bing, bong, bang, beep...next topic, please. :(

So now we know what the 'detailmeister' has been doing to earn his keep. Softening the tone of the Skoda klaxon so as not to wake up the Passat owners.:D The low fuel warning in my RS is more Tupelov than Airbus and scares the life out of me everytime it sounds.

Jabba : Check !

Now I know why I spend so much time in the car !!
