Skoda Octavia II, 1.9tdi pd Classic (BXE) lack of acceleration

Featured Replies

Hi there, bought 2006 Octavia II Classic 1.9TDI (105 bhp - BXE Block), sold as seen with an engine management fault, hence the price i got it for.

Now ive serviced the car, changed the timing belt and the usual things that would be done when purchasing a car second hand.

The car lacks acceleration, and power when going to over take, she is totally dead going up a hill, however given a run on a straight road eventually she will reach a max of about 75mph.

I have ran both a LAUNCH diagnostics computer and VCDS software on the car from RossTech, and the same faults keep appearing, i will list these below, with numbers 1-5 being the most persistent and numbers 6+7 being more intermittent in registering as faults;

1 - 05184 / P1440: EGR Valve - N18: Open

2 - 12546 / P3102: Motor for Intake Flap - V157: No Signal

3 - 00579 / P0243: Turbo Supercharger Wastegate Solenoid (A): Open/Short circuit to Ground

4 - 00275 / P0113: Intake Air Temperature Circuit: High Input

5 - 00568 / P0238: Turbo Super Charger Boost Sensor (A) Circuit: High

6 - 00581 / P0245: Turbo Super Charger Wastegate Solenoid (A): Low Input/Short to Ground

7 - 005269 / P1495: Radiator Exhaust Gase Switch Over valve - N345: Open or Short to Ground.

Now regardless of what work i carry out the faults remain, the Turbo, MAP Sensor, and MAF Sensor has all been changed, there was 3 broken wires in the plug for the vaccuum box in the bulk head, these have been repaired and the box itself has also been replaced. EGR valve taken out, cleaned and moving freely so no faults there yet all these codes and the problem remains. Any help at all will be greatly appreciated as I have came to the conclusion that it is possibly a broken wire somewhere given the fact the faults remain the same no matter what seems to be done.

Cheers

Mick

I'd try googleing the codes. Other wise or might be worth while taking a trip to your local friendly skoda specialist or the local dealer.

Check if turbo actuator is working. In VCDS go to engine>basic setting>control charge pressure valve test (or whatever it's called), click on ON, get yourself under the car and see if actuator arm is moving up and down properly. Also log group 3 and 11 and post results, but that's pointless if actuator is not moving (most likely).

googling the codes wasnt much use, and anything that would usually put the codes on has been changed yet same fault... as for the tubro actuator it was checked before the turbo was changed and everything is moving freely... as for the skoda dealer, really isnt one 'local' roughly 2-3 hours drive away and a supposed skoda specialist in the town, well lets just say he couldnt organise a **** up in a brewery...
