Sad news indeed.

Very sad news - a great loss for both his family and the motorsport world.

Very sad news. :(

Richard always took the time out to speak to fans and have a laugh.

He even posted on scoobynet once. http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/showthread.php?t=4788

A very big loss to the rallying world. My thoughts go out to his famly and friends.

Sad news indeed. 34 years old too. :(

P.S. Having had an hour or so for the news to sink in now, it makes you realise that you just don't know what the future brings. Richard was 6 months older than myself, physically fit, and a real talent. Now he has gone, before his true ability was shown, and way before his time. My thoughts are with his family, and his friends at this deeply emotional time for them.

A very big loss to the sport and his family

My thoughts are with his family and friends :(

So young, and he was a HUGE talent - methinks he would have been WRC champion many more times. RIP.

Just heard myself very sad news indeed! :(

I've said many times that I've never been a great fan of his but he was a fantastic who really only got the chance to give part of what he was able to give.

He's had huge fight with his cancer and when he was at the Rally Day he looked truly shocking so no matter how hard it is he's gone to the great forest in the sky to play with the group B cars.

Very very sad, great loss to the sport and his family.

This is an absolute shame. Im lost for words :(

Very sad.

Only found out today, everything on news over here (NI) has been geared to George Best memorials etc., this is far more shocking to me, at least Best had the chance to show the world his skill, it feels like Richard has been taken too soon, while he was the prime of life, without the chance to fully show what he was capable of, shocked and saddened.
