Just wanted some opinion.

Been offered 17k part ex on my 14plate, 27kmile octy tdi vrs estate. It's in pristine condition and choc full of options. Good offer?

Looks good to me

Just nosey but also it matters.

Is that the offer to change to a new Vehicle that is also well priced,

or against a particular vehicle that might not be shifting well?

It's part ex on a new order golf r estate. They said they'd hold the price till delivery

If you are happy then that is what matters,

but there might be a good Deal coming to those trading in VW Group cars as the full facts of the Co2 / MPG Testing

irregularities come out.

I thought it was pretty good, just thought I'd see some opinions. If I sell privately I'm sure the vw scandal will have an affect on my sale price at the moment

Google Ford CAP valuation for free valuation.

This - now is not the time to trade in - I would personally wait another couple of months.

I'd wait at least until the end of the year (although we are towards the end already). Dealers need to hit their end of year targets, plus with the whole Co2 issues you might get a better discount once they finally release the facts.

Though on the other hand your diesel could drop due to this and petrol's could hold their prices...........then again I could also get some action with Emma Stone!

So whatever deal works out for you, that is the deal to take, after all deal change all the time.

Don't think it's too bad an offer, not sure you would get any/much more selling it private.

Good offer if they hold it for the 4 months or so it will take for the golf r to be built.

I think I'll take the offer, as I'm sure it will depreciate more over the build time, especially the mileage I do, 25k a year. Holding 17k sounds alright :)

Looks a phenomenal offer to me.  I know a diesel estate with extras will command more than my basic petrol hatch, but I enquired back in about may, just for ****  and giggles, and was offered 2k less for my pristine 14 plate with10k miles on it.

Just browsing the used selection at the dealers I used to procure my previous new Skodas....appreciate the colour is an acquired taste but they have a Rio Red 63 plate vRS TDI DSG hatch, 18.6k miles...appears to have Black Pack, Sunset, Amundsen and Canton as obvious options.....£15,490 as an approved used Skoda.

These things just arent worth a fart used....great for someone wanting a v good value newish car though.

As long as the Offer and the Deal is all in writing and done with the Principal Dealers knowledge,

and not an agreement understood just by a Salesperson and Sales Manager that might not be there come next year.

?

Is the deal on the Golf R Estate good, or is it all at full RRP?

That's a good point. I would try carwow if the golf is full RRP.....many dealers on there will give you around £3kor £4K off RRP and still give you reasonable px

I have just signed a deal to trade my 14' TDI 184 manual hatch for a new TSI DSG hatch and I got 13,900 trade in for it. Had almost the same quote from 2 different dealers. Mines got 24,000 on it but doesn't really have any extras.

Give them your money!!! :-)

yeh you know what....where is this VW dealer?  I've a petrol manual vRS that i like but I'm sure I'd like a Golf R estate more.....especially if they are paying silly money on px

Yeah, it looks like a very good deal to me.

I'm shocked by how little mk3s are worth already. :(

10% off rrp and 17k part ex is in writing from the head of fleet at the dealership. Order is in but wait could be up to 6months they said!

Just being nosey but was that over £33,000 before the 10% discount?

35k with options, 10% off that

Them holding a trade in of £17,000 for up to 6 months or more is amazing.

Almost unbelievable.

No idea how much they think they can get for your car around the time that 16 Plates are coming out considering the offers the VW Group will

need to discount new Diesels at by then.

enjoy your new car when you get it.

When I agreed a PX value on my last car some time before getting the new one I believe they agreed to reduce the value of the car to retain a certain amount of agreed equity...so the PX price reduced each month to compensate.

I got my agreed equity, they got my car at slightly less cost the longer the process took.

I couldnt argue too much but to be given a guaranteed price for several months thats largely unheard of nowadays. Id absolutely get it in writing so there no cause for them to turn around in time and argue against it.

Agreed, read the Ts & Cs on the order form - they normally specify a percentage reduction per month in p/ex value once it has gone past the estimated delivery date, so make sure they have put the estimated delivery date on the order form :)
