tyre pressure sensor SEL

Featured Replies

Hello,

I am considering putting new alloys and tyres on my SEL  -  but does it mean moving the pressure sensor from each old wheel to new one , or is it ABS based  on this model fabia ?

i am on 16 inch alloys  and wish to move to 15 inch  so i can put michelin cross climates on it  (  ive checked , no sizes fit the 16's )

many thanks

Its ABS based, no clever valves on these so no worries.

Just be sure to reset the TPMS once youve changed over and set the pressures as the car will need to relearn the rolling circumference of the new wheels and will likely throw an error otherwise.

The tyre pressure sensor do not react when tires are changed if the tire pressure is right or equal in all tires.

I was prepared to reset when changing to winter wheels. Didnt need to.

That was chance.

It works on rolling circumference....and if the system is the same as that employed on the Octavia/Golf it can identify a problem in any of the wheels...not just throw a warning and leaving you guessing which has the problem.

Yes its not essential but advised you reset the TPMS system whenever you make any changes otherwise it may false alarm or not work properly in the event of an issue.
