fabia 2001 front windscreen

Does anybody know how the front windscreen is attached to fabia 2001 as there is nor rubber on the outside .I presume it is glued in

I think you'll find that windscreen adhesives are PU based rather than Silicone based, PU is much stronger and harder wearing than Silicone.

Yes, PU is incredible, I use it for metal to metal bonding as well, trouble is it's bloody impossible to get off your hands so I strongly recommend disposable gloves.

Have you never watched autoglass etc changing a screen?

It's basically in the usual silicone type tube but with a fancy V shape nozzle at the end to give a raised edge for the glass to rest on.

For the record, it isn't plumbers gold. :P

Yes I've watched many a screen been changed over the years, my WTF was at the glib reference to silicon being used to adhere the glass in. The windscreen adhesive is nothing like the generic silicone most people see in tubes, yes its applied from a similar cartridge gun but the two are vastly different.

The reason I ask is that condensation is forming on bottom right hand corner .As anyone had any success curing this on a bonded windscreen

Does it look Milky under the black bonded area? Or condensation inside on the actual clear glass bit?

PU18 is quite common I believe used in the automotive trade mainly
