When i initially bought this car i still was running my Ibiza for several months so this sat laid up on my mum's driveway.

When i first put it on the road i could hear a humming noise at speed. Assumed it was just a wheel bearing. Eventually the noise went away.

I removed the handbrake surround to replace my cigarette lighter socket (total PITA btw - don't recommend it) and i noticed the very uneven way the handbrake cables were sitting.

On inspection of my rear discs, mostly covered in rust it appears the calipers had seized when it was laid up and the discs are very worn and rusty. Humming noise was from pads rubbing on the discs.

Rather than faff about with really old calipers trying to get them moving properly again i bought the following.

Fully reconditioned rear calipers (only the body is original)
Brembo grooved rear discs
Brembo OEM grade rear pads
Eezibleed system.

Custom downpipe this coming Friday as well.

Refurbed brake calipers arrived today and they look good as new, at a fraction of the price.

Need to get them painted up. before fitting.

2.5" freeflow downpipe made & fitted today as well. It's not made any difference to performance that i can feel but it's made the bad whine off of my turbo super loud now lol.
This will be better for the replacement turbo though.
Was cheaper for this to be made and fitted than it was to buy a new Milltek one without fitting

Simon (who made the exhaust) has a strange choice of cars for a daily driver, but i like it!

Lol last time I seen that it was half primer half red! Simons work is second to none and is the only guy allowed near my car for exhausts! He's done a few for me now

Nice one! I've went to him for a few cars now as well and i agree, his work is spot on and listens to what you're wanting.

I told him just to make the downpipe 2.25" from the flange to the flexipipe so it was easier, but he insisted on flaring the pipe at the flange so it's about 1cm of 2.25" then it's at 2.5" on the bend for better flow. He's pretty busy now as well. Had to book 6 weeks in advance but wouldn't go anywhere else.

Yeah he's taken off big time which is great as he deserves it, he's worked hard since he went it alone. He done my fabia straight through and decat in 2.25inch to keep some back pressure. That was in 2009 iirc he done mine

Not much been happening recently apart from driving it

Got the following bits to fit shortly.
New Brembo grooved rear disks
New Brembo OEM pads.
Refurbed brake calipers
New brake fluid
Paint the brake calipers Skoda green (sorry, not sorry)

Seagull decided to headbutt my grill when i was doing about 60mph the other week so new grill is needed. Not sure to keep the chrome on the front though or to paint it black. Thoughts?

Video of the other night. I wanted to hear how it sounded from the outside.
Dying turbo has a nice whine

Not much been happening recently apart from sourcing some parts.
Bought some adapters, silicone pipes, new EGR delete and hard pipe to replace the last plastic boost pipe and to refit the anti shudder valve.

Picked up an auto light switch as well to fit with sensor so lights will come on when i unlock the car and on automatically at night.

Took a few night shots to test the S7 on manual settings with a tripod in the meantime. Car is in dire need of a wash!

Bit more progress this weekend with things.

Whipped front bumper off this morning and got the headlights removed. I've bought 2.5" projectors so i'm going to split the headlights, fit them inside the same as others have done here, spray the inside outer chrome part matt black then refit them with 35W 5000k HIDs

Intercooler and pipes will be getting a good clean up as well

Checking the fitment of some of the new pipework to fit. I want to fit the anti shudder valve back on, but retain the EGR delete so bought the proper BLT engine EGR delete to fit as well

The LED in the boot was meant to be white, but was a bit too blue for my liking so found a more white thing...it's the little things.

Bit more progress made last night

Headlights split using a heat gun.

20161022_151913_zpsunab43dp.jpg

Chrome outer sanded down

20161022_193337_zpsfxhitwql.jpg

After some plastic filler primer and applying the matt black

20161022_204326_zpsh9w234vy.jpg

One headlight with the HID's fitted now and wiring all tidied

20161023_002511_zpshivhgn5s.jpg

One of the projectors is giving me grief because the screws that hold the bulb in have stripped so i might need to replace it if the gorrilla glue doesn't help. After that, just need to bond the fronts back on again.

As you probably noticed from the pictures above, the intercooler and pipes were really really dirty.

I've had to order a replacement projector unit for one headlight as i stripped the screws on it so ordered remaining boost pipes to replace the plastic ones and cleaned up the existing pipes and intercooler to freshen it up a little

My front calipers were looking a bit tatty so cleaned them up with a wire brush on a drill

The good stuff

2 coats later. I know i could have taken them off, but then that hassle would have put me off doing them

An expensive mistake...

Decided to fit some spare LEDs to my dad's car whilst i was waiting on the paint to dry

Test fitting the headlights and 5000k HIDs now. Nice, with no glare. Just need some sealant and to bond on a bracket i cracked by accident.
